My school doesn't understand GPA

A B- B C+ = 3.0 ok yeah thats right

A- A- B+ B- = 3.35 Ummm..........

B- A B- C A = 2.93

im not sure why a - counts against me and a + does not count for me.

anyone else's University have this set up? I hate the whole plus minus idea. 4 levels is enough to measure what i learned.

A A A A = 4.0

but so does

A+ A+ A+ A+ but not A- A- A- A-

I've never heard of a + or - being a real grade in a GPA. That's just what you tell kids in elementary school to make them feel like they did better. Every HS or college I've ever seen is the same for any + or -. You sure you're not reading a cumulative?

Yeah that doesn't sound right. I've never seen a - or + on my grades.

Hell, I don't think I ever got letter grades in college except for the final grade in the class. Most assignments will be whatever out of 20 or similar. You can still calculate out a letter grade if you want, but I don't think any of my professors would have written a letter on it. I don't really remember though. I didn't go to class much.

yeah most professors use a point system, and you final grade is posted as a letter, I dont have + or - on mine though

I would look at how many credits we're looking at too. For the one where you came up with 3.35 I came up with 3.45 all classes being weighted the same

A- = 3.8
B- = 2.8
and B+ = 3.5

If B- was a 4 credit class and all others were 3 credit classes then a 3.35 overall sounds correct (didn't do the math).
