maybe the letters "GT" are the guy's initials?
hehe, just playing. Other people should be able to do what they want (as long as its not illegal or disrespectful) with their property because in the end, they are the ones that pay the bills. If slapping GT badges on their cars make them happy, then why not let them do it? its just like asking why a white person would wear rocawear or something. is he a poser for dressing like black people?
i agree with you 100% but if your gonna do that much like clone....i would hope you got the guts (performance to back it up).....as far as true clone go...i havent seen one that wouldnt bury the real thing....my 2 cents.....

I like the clean look. No fake plastic hood scoop, no plastic rear wing, no stinkin badges, no tape or stickers. Just clean. I have since taken the dealer sticker off too. And it doesn't hurt that we don't have to have a front plate.
It's all about the yellow lol!!

Maybe it was a GT and he put V6 stuff on to be a sleeper :P
There is a guy on another forum who is doing just that with his GT. Taking off the rocker panels, GT emblems, front fascia, '07+ rear spoiler to make it look like a V6. I Like this idea and would probably have done the same if I have purchased a GT. I bought the Pony Package because I thought it looks better.

i dont understand that sometimes.
+1.....i still don't understand either. everyone i've met who knows stangs knows that mine is a sixer regardless of my exhaust. they were able to guess right that its custom. people who weren't too familiar with stangs have asked me if it was the V8 and this was before my exhaust and wheels. go figure.

I have considered getting the pony Emblems for my GT. IMO they look better
Are you feeling sentimental Adam for your old blue sixxer??? _____________________________________
IMO, clone cars = rice. Sure, that's the owner's right to do so, but I think it's tacky. However, I've seen tribute cars that I would love to have in my garage (an S197 that's badged as a Mach I is a tribute car, cuz Ford never built one). I recently saw a BEAUTIFUL triple-black 2007 (fake) Shelby GT500 that was truly stunning. The only thing that gave it away was the auto tranny. As nice as it was, I wouldn't want it cuz it was a fake. But as long as the owner is happy, then I guess that's all that matters.

I like the clean look more now, but I'll still roll with the pony emblems on the sides on mine. I know where a guy parks a V6 every day with everything changed to GT except the front bumper+grill. I find it odd to see anyway. And yeah I agree that GT emblem on the rear is pretty ugly. The ones on the sides are fine though. I kinda wish they would've kept more of the concept car's logos.
I dunno, why do GT owners measure manhood by how many cylinders they have? Mustang owners are fairly representative of the population at large. Most are reasonable thoughtful people and some are receiving life instructions thru their foil helmet/CAI mass air flow sensor.
Sleeper V6 = very cool GT badges on V6 = very NOT cool.

well how do you know its a V6??? ive seen a guy that has the pony package grill because they didnt like the big fog lights and wanted to keep the retro look...he even changed the GT trunk badge cuz he didnt like it and had the pony emblem instead....and i actually looked at his engine and it was a V8

Not all GT owners measure their manhood by the amount of cylinders they have feejay. That's like saying your avitar is a direct reflection of yourself.

+ 1 pretty much the same here...it really boils down to personalizing....i try to take the attitude that....if you like it that is what matters....for instance i like stripes...but i like em on other peoples cars....
and im all about slowly being that sleeper....just gonna take some dough and patience...
but yes peeps who know stangs know im a six right off...those unfamiliar ask or often assume im a gt through no fault of thier own, i dont expect everyone to be a mustang junkie.....i mean i know older years and stuff too....but im a fiend for stangs....
what irks me is when someone who doesnt know stangs asks if its a gt and when i tell em no..they say something to the effect of the following:
them:"you got the girls car!" me: "really? what kind of mustang do you have?" them:"i dont have one" me:"well then i guess were done talking about mustangs then arent we?"
of course i only use this response when the comment is meant to insult me or the person seems to want to talk a good game about stangs and somehow put me down for whatever reason and really doesnt know anything cars and basically trying to put me down.....ya know?
if thier nice about it, i will let them hear her a little and reply with...."does that sound like a girls car?" and when i leave i dont necesarily squirrel it, or peel out, but i let em hear that 6 power....

I have never really understood that as well. Why people put different emblems on there cars. Like V6's putting GT emblems on or GT's putting cobra emblems on....it just never made sense to me.
I've had a lot of people think my car was a GT....even other GT owners at the track ask if it was a GT. I tell them nope and the lok on there face is priceless and then they walk around to the back or I open the hood and they are like ohhh it is a 6.

And what about that fake plastic faux gas cap you have on there? My scoop, louvers and wing are fiberglass, not plastic so I guess they are OK?
