View Full Version : got a 3rd job.... eaton swap on mach
5speedstang 04-24-2008, 10:18 AM so i may be getting a 3rd job. if i get this job i will have funds for a eaton swap on my mach. my buddy works at fords and can get me parts i need for 15% over their cost.
here is the question. i need a shoping list of all the parts i need for this swap. can someone please help me out?
i know i need the timing chain cover and he said he can get that for me for 450. what else will i need.
eaton is the LAST supercharger i would ever throw on a car. by far, the least efficient of all superchargers...

Sure is easy to spend when it`s not your $$ eh?;)
You are right though. From the research i have done Eaton is the last choice. There are used Vortech and Paxtons out there for decent cash though.

vortechs and paxtons run off of engine oil though. so if whoever owned the supercharger before u didn't change their oil for 15,000 miles, chances are the supercharger got damaged from particles in the oil. that's why the only centri i'd ever consider buying used is a procharger

Blownsvt 04-24-2008, 07:42 PM One of my friends just put an eaton on his 04 mach and with the stock pulley it made 447whp and 402tq
QatarStang 04-25-2008, 10:03 AM Jesus! What else was done to the mach other than the blower?
5speedstang 04-25-2008, 10:44 AM welll now its toying between running a 7psi turbo kit. which i kinda dont wanna do. and doing the eaton swap. was it hard?
baino 04-25-2008, 11:38 AM yall dont think it would be easier, cheaper (or same$), more efficient, and look better to just buy a new kit made for the mach?

not much at all, just exhaust, shifter, and he had to get a differentCAI to mount to the blower. that was with the stock 3.65 pulley.
B.O.B MACH 1 04-26-2008, 12:14 AM Dont waste your time with the heaton. The list of parts you need is extensive. You can get a pro charger or kenne bell for about the same pirce and it is made specifcly for a mach.

redeye 04-26-2008, 12:47 PM just get aprocharger made for your car it will be simplier and more effencent too. and take alot less time, and swapping parts over the eaton way your car will be down for a while.you will need more than just a timimg cover btw.
03 cobra tank and pumps alt. bracket ,intercooler system.i could go on and on.redoing some of the wiring ,if you serious about it, than go for it . headaches ahead.
if i belivie, i looked into it back when i had a 99 cobra. but still would have had power rods weak pistions and t 45 weak transstill, so i sold it and got an 03 cobra.
youre going to have to much compression with the eaton on your block. you will be limited to 8 psi at best.
well good luck with your peoject ,do keep us informed.
just get a kit thats all together
Blownsvt 04-26-2008, 03:34 PM he is going to have the same boost limitations no matter what he pputs on it and the cost will be pretty similar either way he goes. there is alot of parts you will have to find and unless you can find them used it will get very expensive. My buddy was able to doo his because i went turbo right at the same time and had alot of the things he needed coming off of my car.
