in my town one of my old classmates was on his way to work in his motorcycle

the car next to him changed lanes without checking blind spots and knocked him into oncoming traffic

i was there when they were taking him from underneath the old mans car...he died

its tragic

and on the topic of smelling a dead body

in chem lab ive made such compounds as putricine and cadaverine, which are two chemicals emitted from dead bodies, so in a way, yes i have

saw a gun battle between a burglar and undercover pd

2 burglar laying on the street dead shot on the head.  Blood was flowing like water down the gutter.

i have encounters with several people who were dyinjg with aids.  One person told me that he was dying that night. He died.

I knocked on an apartment once and the guy was dying in front of me.  I had to call paramedics.  When they picked him up he left a big poop on his chair.  Died on the way to the hospital.

I used to work in EMS, so yeah I've seen dead people of all sorts of sizes/shapes/colors. But evidently that doesn't count.  Even made a few of them undead(no, not zombies).

I used to work at my uncles towing company, and saw some pretty gruesome stuff.  When we got the call usually from 911 dispatch shortly after they dispatched the PD and FD and we had to be there in 20 minutes so I saw quite a bit of stuff.  The most memorable one I can remember was kids that went to another HS in the same town as I and we didn't care for each other because he was trying to get with this chick that I was trying to get with.

He was tired, and had been drinking and was going around a sharp corner about 1/4 mile from his house.  Rolled the car, hit a tree no seatbelts.

When his mom came to the impound lot the next day to pick up his belongings out of the car she grabbed the upper part of the door and when she did that she grabbed a handful of scalp, hair and blood.  There was so much blood in the floor that you couldn't even see the carpet, it was soaked in blood.  The bad thing is, she came to get his stereo system out.  WTF???  The day after your son passes away in an accident and you come to get his stereo?  None of his other stuff he had in there, pics, clothes, personal items???

I was with both of my parents when they died.  the hospice nurse took over two hours before she came to the house with my mom, and 1 1/2 hrs with my dad. she didnt even call the funeral home to pick them up til after she got there.  the whole situation was hard to deal with.
I went to the scene where my sisters car was hit by a drunk driver. as I ran up, one of them said that they no longer had a pulse.  I watched as they tried to revive her, and then stood up and said it was no use.  I still remember that like it was yesterday. It was so traumatic. they wouldnt let me touch her but, I stayed by her til they took her in the ambulance.

I also saw a girl dead in a flipped jeep.  We had been the second car to arrive, and my dad got out to see if he could help.  he couldnt, she was already dead.

Yes.   She had been trapped and screaming until right before I got there. When they got her out, she had been stopped breathing only a couple of minutes, and they tried to revive her, but then when they looked closer at her injuries, they said it was no use.  They laid her on the ground by the car to wait, because her husband was going in the ambulance, so they had to wait on the next one.  I stood by her body until the other ambulance took her. Her husband died later.   She was my best friend and I still love her very much.

several. few on the streets from accidents, not really up close.

i was with my grandmother and grandfather when they died. my grandmother died in her house, we had live-in hospice care at that point for her. was in the room when she passed. i was with my grandfather when he passed, but he was in the hospital at that point, and he had already been unconscious for days.

also saw what was left of one of my friends after he commited suicide. took a 20 gauge shotgun blast to the face. didnt really do as much damage as you would have thought to himself but blood was everywhere. took 5 hours before the coroner showed up and remove the body so we all just sat there.

yup... my first city job was working in the projects of clinton tpw MI

i was called in to "get into" an apt of an elderly woman. the fire dept was standing by to bust it down, and my boss needed me to get it open. her car was there....the doors were locked from inside.

needless to say when i got in... she was there on the floor... the phone on the floor ... and she was quite blue.

nice old lady too, i knew her well. but we all go sometimes

I have seen a few.

The first was in 1999.  My 4th time to Vegas, and we are down near Fremont, trying like hell to find where we left my Firebird, so we could get somne stuff out of it and catch a cab ride home.  We turn the corner and BAM!  We see some dude straight-up execute this guy with a shot to the head.  We ran out of there as fast as 3 drunks could.  No need to stick around and chat with the fellow, ya know?

The second one was on 580 heading west.  3 guys were riding like morons on their bikes, and decided that traffic was not moving fast enough, so it was time to split lanes.  Between 2 big-rigs.  The first two made it, the last did not.  I will never forget the *sound* as that truck split his head open like a watermelon.  Even at freeway speeds with the window down you could hear it.  The worst thing is that his friends were moving so fast they never stopped.  They never even came back.

a dump truck jump the median on a highway and slammed head on into a suv.  The body from the suv was just laying in the road.  this really bothered me

a guy jumped off a bridge in philly (happens all the time)  they pulled him out and i was walking down from a building and they had him all sprawled out.  He looked like he had a real rough life, kinda like a biker dude.  He was super purple too.

I was in CO right outside of Denver with my dad when I was 17.  There were these huge concrete barricades on either side of the road.  A lady in a cavalier had side wiped one, flipped and flatted right against the barricade.  I was maybe a couple cars back and it was still raining pretty hard.  THe cars in front of us stopped and we sat there for a little in our car.  There was glass and debri everywhere. They were trying to pry open the door but the entire roof had been flattened down to the hood so there was no way to pry it open.  I didnt actually get out and see the body, but there was no way anyone could have survived it.

I guess you CO people arent used to driving in the rain much???
