I have a 68 Coupe with a 289, C4 and have an opportunity to pick up a 429 w/C6 (will need a rebuild). Anyone ever make this kind of swap?

Thanks

If it's for a car you drive regularly you might want to reconsider, BBF's are a lot heavier so the car won't handle as well, and the mileage will suck. Otherwise, it should go in, but you'll need other stuff like engine mounts, and a different transmission slip yoke(I think C4 and C6 use different yokes), and possibly a different length driveline(not certain on this one). Then you need other stuff done to the car to handle a big block's power, subframe connectors, suspension/traction mods etc.

thats good advice to follow,in 1969 a Ford dealership would charge around 300bucks to do a tune up on a big block. They did that because they are a pain to work on. So unless you just have to have a big block I would spend the money on other mods to improve the car. If the big block is a deal then buy it and part it out it could be worth more in pieces than as a whole unit. Good luck on your project.
