ya know its funny, after reading all these dual posts , I might just stay with a single and a custom exhaust once I bolt on the X charger.
(Forgive me if you're just making a joke, it's hard to read irony and sarcasm, but...)
Duals (especially X pipe) > Single when forced induction becomes involved.
You'd lose out big-time. A single just won't move the exhaust volume at a comparable rate.
If you're rolling with a supercharger or turbo of any kind, I would call dual exhaust an absolute must as an accompanying mod.
Plus the duals just look so sweet. That alone is worth it.
Im not kidding,,, maybe Ill get a big fat 3 inch cat back pipe built but the more I see every second six banger getting duals the more Id like to stick with one fat pipe.

Every second six-banger on these forums getting duals does not reflect the general population of six-banger owners.
It's a very small percentage of V6 owners in the real world who mod their cars at all, way smaller percentage than GT owners.
Getting duals might not make your V6 unique on here, but if you look around at the six-bangers when you're out in traffic, the ones with duals are few and far between.
I've seen probably around 70-80 V6's in real life and I think 3 of them have had dual exhaust. Most six-bangers aren't modded at all. Just because a lot of the V6 enthusiasts at MustangForums put duals on their cars doesn't make it a bad or not worthwhile mod, it's a good mod to stand out from the general real-life V6 population.

dont get me wrong ,, I like duals but im not so sure yet. Im just not sold on the fact that I cant make a single system to run with the X and not give up any performance.
Phunnyguy that was an excellent video! Good info. I have two questions: The H-Pipes catbacks from what I read gives you that muscle car, V8 sound, but you lose torque and mileage. How much significant loss will it be? Also, I love your Magnaflows! I'm planning on getting a TurboHouse turbo, and from what Faszm says, I have to run my original Y-Pipe and do a dual conversion there. But I want to do H-Pipe with Cervinis sideskirt/exhaust. Will that be possible?
not sure on the side cervinis and a turbo set up with an h pipe...i guess anything is possible....im betting its going to be str8 up custom work tho....and than can be pricey...i dont have the skills to do that, if you do ...then give it a shot let us know how ti turns out....as for the losing some torque i have heard that and mostly on the low end i think, most i met with an x pipe said they see little to know mileage difference, but i guess that also depends on how often you get your foot in it.....as for an h pipe and mileage i dont know
i have thought of doing an x pipe...or even an h with my flows, but im happy with where she is torque and sound plus i have to drive her every day so mileage is an issue....and yes...h pipe and x pipe i think are deeper v8 type tones if you will.....
