I was talking to a shop and they said they would need to send my computer to saleen or ford dealer to flash it back to stock
first if I want to tune it right.  True?  Reason I ask is I wanted to get a
SCT X3 XCALIBRATOR. I thought I could make changes
myself with this tuner or does it store a stock tune, and a modified tune?  Can I myself change timing, and other stuff through
this tuner?

Thanks,

Marco

ok, I am no expert.  I am sure you can find some info online.  WHat I know is that the Xcal that I just got form JDM backs up the stock tune, and installs their tune.  I believe it holds both.  In the directions, it looks as though you can make changes, but I know you cannot alter the JDM tune.  I wish I knew more, but that is it.

True!  They can't edit Saleen's tune and they need a base tune to start from.

+1  Those tuners assume your are programming a Mustang GT with the stock Ford flash, not one with the Saleen Flash.  You are able to change some options, but being that you have the Saleen flash you should have a custome tune created.

Ok thanks guys.  I just wanted to make sure.

Ya, he said they'd have to flash my saleen computer to a gt computer and then add a tune as I add stuff.

I saw this one on e bay that looks like a good deal.
