Corvettes, yea or ney

i was just hinking, what are all your opinions on vettes ???

i can live with the old ones (up to about '64 or '65) the new ones suck though, imo. They're way too overrated. They're overpriced and everyone i've known who ones one says they require a lot of work to keep them in good shape and that there's always something going wrong on them, they all said that they'd never own another. I can't say much for the C6's, to me, they look like damn vipers. anyway i just thought i'd get your opinions.

Corvettes ftfmw.

Cousin-in-law just bought a 2007 C6 with 4,000 miles. Let me drive it.

Corvette ftw.

The mother effing win.

I did my junior research paper on the Corvette. After reading for weeks on the car. I fell in love with it. They are definitely America's Sports car. *Waits for someone to make fun of early C4 corvettes*

Some of the new models seem overhyped and overpriced, but so are all the Mustang variations. When is enough enough right?

Viper > All

they all said they'd never own another? yeah....talk to more corvette people, because there's a reason why they are still in production.

i really like them. if i had 50k to spend on a car.....i'd get a used LS2 and spend the rest on other **** (or another DD if i didn't have one).

as for vipers > all, explain that.

They are a little overpriced, but they are certainly amazing cars. If I were going to spend $70k, it definitely wouldn't be on a new Vette, but I wouldn't mind one that was a few years old.

$41,000 for a 2007 Le Mans Blue Corvette with 4,000 miles and an LS2 is damn good enough for me. Came fully loaded ... DVD and convertible and everything.

I'm very jealous.

For the bad-ass performance you are getting straight from the factory I have to say it's worth the price.

That said, when I get out of college I'll probably pick up a lightly used one just like this just to keep the cost down.

I don't want to make this a Corvette vs Viper thread, but I can't help to say that corvette is very refined. I love it, I'd love one for a DD. (Ls2 model) If I want to go fast, I'll take the Viper hands down. It's a little more raw, it feels like a race car. When you touch the panel next to the seat and get burned, I love that. Not that my fingers are on fire, but that this car was made to run.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread. [&:]
