The vette is great and all, but I think I like the more radical look of the viper.  When you see the viper, you know it's fast.  Anyone think the C5 looks like a 97 style rx7?

I love vettes. I highly doubt I will ever own one, Mustangs are much more practical and affordable, but vettes are sweet.

the mustang and corvette will never die....they might eventually be bastardized into turbo 4 bangers or electric cars....but they will never die

sure, if you call that living

I know what you mean, fast is fast, looks are an added bonus.  IDK, maybe it's I see a lot of them on the roads, for that I like the viper more.  Oh well...

yeah well if u study the engineering behind the corvette i.e. katech engine builders(they r the ones who developed the ls7) u will apreciate the corvette alot more. im sure there is some good engineering behind the viper too BUT the viper doesnt have the heritage nor the racing background that the vette does.

Brian, true.  The viper is just a little scratch in the tree of cars.  (Wow, thats a gay).

We might never see the viper have much of a history though, I know wikipedia is known for it's mistakes, but it says 2011, there is speculation of viper production ending.

haha well, since my granpa has owned WELL over 100 vettes in his lifetime (some notables[well, the ones he owns or recently owned]: 1966 burgundy corvette 'sunshine' gets out of in Remember the Titans, 1963 big tank z06, bout 60 or so made, 1978 indianapolis pacecar, and a 1991 zr1) he was l l <--that close to buying a viper, but the bank d!ked him out of it.

my mom bought her 1971 convertable vette as a senior in highschool, and still owns it. my brother just bought a 1986 (converted to 93 specs:bumpers, interior, etc.)

to tell the truth, when thinkin bout my first car, i was torn btw a corvette and a mustang. but theyre too tight to work on inside the engine bay, so i got my 5.0. (first ford in the family. sits amongst the 8 other GM cars in the garage ) i won in the end.

so id say yea. (if you cant tell ive grown up around corvettes. #1 in my book)

Honestly, I don't care what dies, and comes back, or just rests in peace.  I love American Muscle cars.

Sure we might not have top quality Eco-boxes, or cars that take turns the way Euros do, but I know when I start up my car I'm waving the American Flag!

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

i love the z06's...c5 and c6. with a new z06 u can do h/c/i and blow away any viper on the road. or any ferrari. and possibly a ford gt. mustangs r never even a factor for the new z06's. wait a few years and the price will fall...look at the c5 z06's u can pick one up for under 30k...how many of u here have spent more than 30k on ur car + mods and still cant beat a c5 z06? especially around the twisties. the ls2 vettes with h/c/i are right at the same level as the viper, with better DD qualities, and for less $$$. IMO ls2 vette=potential for a reasonable price. IMO modded C6 Z06=super car killer. there is a vid on youtube where an f430 is chasing down a new z06 and could barely keep up. if u compare a super car like an f430 to the z06 you can conclude that for the money u save buying a z06 u could mod the hell out of it and there would be nothing that could touch u.

^f430 vs. z06

H/C to possibly beat a Ford GT? How about air filter and tune? --> Z06 vs Ford GT

Are you calling my car a bastard?

Is OK, I know it is

And a yes to the Vette.  What you get for the $ is impressive.  That being said, all quality, DD arguments, etc etc I would choose a Viper over a Vette.  Preferably an older one where they are still nice and curvy...
