Blonde in need of wheel advice

I have a 94' Mustang GT Conv bright red.  I want to put 18" wheels on her.   What brand or designer is good, something that is respected???  Sorry guys, but I have to use stores as my example to give you an idea of what I am looking for.  If I'm shopping for clothes I buy Guess, bebe, Armani Exchange etc.  I want designers simular to those reputations for wheels.  I hate to sound crazy, but thats the best way for me to explain myself...I'm not very familiar with this stuff obviously!  Thanks in adavnce for any suggestions!

Foose wheels.  I like Foose.  He is one of the top custom car designers, more classics but still very respected.

Well, if you were a brunette, I would have recommended some cheap knock-offs, but since you are blonde........ [;)]

Wheels are a completely subjective thing, so you just need to look around untill you see a set you like. Most will be available in the size you want, so when you do, ask the driver (if possible) to tell you what they are and where they were purchased. Next, go to a good reputable tire/wheel shop in your area and ask for help. He/she will be able to order them, or find something similar if not "exactly" what you want. This person will also help you size the wheels per the look you want as well as fit your budget.

      When you get them installed, post some pics for us...... I am talkin' 'bout the car, silly [&:]

EDIT: Never answered you question on "respected" brands. I have not seen any wheels I would specifically stay away from due to poor quality. I am sure there are some, but if you look closely, you will see quality even if you don't recognize the name. For instance, you probably look at stitching of clothes and material to determine how well it is made. The finish of a wheel will tell you the same thing..... even if it doesn't say DKNY [;)]

I have foose on my 06, it's a respected wheel brand, but? Had to go through three sets before some good wheels actually were sent. Somehow through discount tire, mht wheels sent them two sets of singed up,scuffed, chrome bubbled rims.

? Biggest question would be what kind of price range are we looking at?

Haha,  Jazzer I like you.
I'd like to be under $2,000 with tires however,  I don't mind spending more if that is what it takes to buy head turning wheels.   I like the look of BOSS wheels, and I liked some Avenue wheels until I was told they are bad.  Thanks for the tips guys!!!

With a $2000 budget, you will have lots of nice options for tire/wheel package. I say find something you like, and run it by us. I am sure we could throw in $.02 on what quality may be like based on price and reputation.

In general, chrome will have more issues over time due to corrosion at area where tire seals on rim and can leak air pressure. This has never stopped me from buying chrome rims, as I have them now, but did have to do extensive work on last pair due to this issue. If you stay high-polished alloy and minimal surface variations (slots, little bolt heads, grooves etc....) in face of wheel, it will be easier to clean and less likely to have finish issues. If the wheel has a cover of some type that hides the lugs, this can also be an issue over time as the cover is usually made of chrome plated plastic and may crack or chip over time.

Buy mine they're 19"s(bigger is better).Seriousely look around until you find something you feel defines your personallity.Good luck post pics once you choose.

I LOVE The look [:)] but those particular wheels are for a front wheel drive (FWD below name) [:o] 

The company may have a set for rear wheel drive, so ask them if they do. The "paintable inserts" appear to be a plastic piece that snaps out of wheel (look close and I think the 5 spoke piece is completely removable so it can be painted [:'(]). If so, I think that would be a HUGE negative as to quality to me and feel it will not pass the "hotproperty gurl quality assurance test" [8D] (hey admin.... more smileys please, as I am running out of options here! [;)]). Anyway, sorry if I am bursting your bubble, but wouldn't want you to be unhappy with your purchase.

I think it would be a good idea to go to some car shows and look at other cars with wheels you like on the forums here and PM owners.

boss makes good wheels so does tsw foose is more of a classic wheel i got the boss 327 20" and they look amazing but boss is great and tsw is also a vewry high quality wheel

The 20" Foose Nitrous is the way to go.  I picked up a set of black ones for my 05 GT convertible and they look sharp!  Check out the Neeper Moxxy wheels too.  They look pretty good.

It's just a matter of what you like.  With that year of Pony, I'd definitely go chrome.  A guy around town has a 95 with 18" chromes and they look phenominal!

I'll do that as soon as I get my camera fixed.  I installed my Fooses today, and have to re-tighten the lugs as soon as I get home from work.  Overall though, I am very happy with the way they look.  It's sort of a black 5 spoke design with a chrom lip.  It goes well with the black paint on the car and puts off a muscular/stealthy look.

Here is a generic pic of what they look like on a 197 stang.  Also, here is a pic of the Neepers on the black Stang with the red stripes.

Hmmm so much information!  Jazzer, no worries, my bubble didn't burst.   I agree that the inserts are cheap and personally I think cheesy.  I went to this great Wheel store today and am shocked at what I'm leaning towards now.   It's the "killer" by American Racing....I just love the look of this wheel on a car.   I agree the Foose has some sick wheels, but I see a lot of them around, and the nitrous, although gorgeous, remind me of bullits a little too much.  I will definitely take another look at the foose if everyone thinks they are that great.  Like I said, I'm shocked that I like the AR wheels, but I was impressed that they have a two year warrenty on their wheels...that says a lot in my book.  Ok guys what do you think???

Those look good. A warranty on wheels is pretty much useless from a manufacturer. They'll just claim negligence on your part.
