My 2.3 5 speed gets about 33-35 if I drive it like an old lady.

I usually fill up around 12.5gal at $3.40 and I get anywhere from 250-280something miles. I think the last time I filled up was a little over 13gal at 316(or close to it)miles. Anywhere from 19-23 mpg with me, and I have a few things I need to replace/fix.
How many gallons do you use before a fill-up? Also put your car info in your sig so people know what you have.

I use to get 30MPG hwy. Auto, 2.3 N/A. New with the turbo I was getting 28ish outside of boost but I blew the turbo and I was chewing on oil, so my MPG went down to 12 MPG

my old one was seriously getting 35-40 even more during the summer. but in north carolina they do not use ethanol in the fuel, so it burns slower. all i had done to it was a stage 2 jet chip, full exhaust and intake.. nothing special

whats the stage 2 jet chip suppose to do? where did you get it? thanks
20 mpg going 26 miles combined of going to school and back. i don't drive like a grandma and get 240 miles on a tank. i don't go on the highway because i'm afraid of getting hit because the car is so damn slow. my dad took it to work for a week and got over 300 miles of a tank on the highway. gas is now $3.40 i think. my plan is to get a 2010 or so Jetta TDI when i get out of college and make biodiesel. +40 mpg in city and +50 mpg highway even if diesel is more than gas can't argue going 500 miles on one tank.

Jet engineering. they make computer chips for almost every vehicle. they make stage 1 and stage 2. stage 2 you need a 160 degree thermostat, and a straight pipe exhaust. good luck finding one, because they discontinued the stage 2 for the 2.3 mustang about 5-6 years ago? i picked mine up on ebay for over $250...
Stage 1 adjusts your spark timing and air/fuel ratio
stage 2, does the above at a more aggressive pace, along with making the car a long way from being emmisions legal. it will dump extra fuel into the engine, which you should upgrade to a 60mm or bigger MAF meter.. or convert if your car isnt MAF... u didn't say what year it was.. btw mine was a 1992

I feel most confident on the freeway with my mustang. Sucks around town, but feels at home on the freeway. Cruizes at 65-70 like nobodys business.

I just figured my mpg from the past 5 fill-ups and it went 22, 22.1, 23, 24.7, 24. I guess that CIA(kinda sorta) helped.
CAI definitely helps. Now that I'm up to date on maintanance, I got 33.5mpg on Sunday. I was getting 24-28 before. I estimate my "CAI" silencer delete added 3-4 mpg from 20-25. Definately worth doing.

What is a CAI? Sorry, I'm very new here, thinking of selling my 66 when it's done a little later this spring and get a '93 4 banger. Also anyone know off hand if a gear vendors overdrive would work with this transmission to give it 5 gears? :) I have one I was going to use on the 66 but with selling it won't bother putting it on. Also anyone got a good resource for building these engines to get some extra power?

Cold Air Intake
You wont make much power on these engines without a turbo. You'll make 150 ish hp with a 2.5 crank, porting and a header (also a good cam)
If you want a 5 speed... thats an auto... Have fun. No one ahs been able to addapt the 5R55E (?) in the 2.3 ranger (duratech engine) to a 2.3 (lima engine)
Either go T5 (5 speed) or stay A4LD (4 speed auto)
