Default Need Amp Advice!!

A freind of mine is selling two Rockford Fosgate P3D212 - 12" Punch P3 2-Ohm DVC Subwoofers. They are 500 Watts RMS 1000 Watts Max.

I'm trying to find a 2 channel amp that will push enough power to them to make them rock. He's also selling a Mono-Channel Alpine Amp (600 Watts) that is currently running them and it sounds really good. It's an Alpine PDX1.600. But like I said, it's only a Mono-Channel. I'm worried about running both of these subs off a single channel for fear of it blowing something or not hitting to it's potential.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Don't buy the woofers, if he is selling the amp for around $175 give or take, snag that up.

Rockford hasn't made anything decent in over a decade.

Don't ever ever ever buy someone else's used stereo equipment. Bad bad bad investment. You would be better off looking on ebay for stuff on closeout or just steals if money is the problem. If money isn't the problem then don't be cheap. Go out and buy what you want. Fun fact: just because a subs specs say "600W peak" doesn't mean you need 1200W to rock two of them. It all depends on the design of the enclosure and how much cubic airspace it allows. You could rock two 600W subs with 150W a piece with the right amp and the right enclosure. You don't need a two channel amp to run both speakers. You can use a mono channel amp that is 1 ohm stable and bridge the two subs.

Interesting. I know the guy who's selling them pretty well, they're almost brand new. He bought them 3 or 4 months ago. I'm not sure what he's selling the amp for. I checked RF's website and the subs go for about $250 a piece. He's selling them both for $300.

The amp he sold for $300 on top of the subwoofers ($600 total). I was talking to an audio installation shop (we were getting a quote on my girlfriend's truck) and they almost jizzed themselves when I showed them what the subs and amp were. They said it should sound great. I'll find out tomorrow.
