OK so I have a v6 03 mustang and I want to get rid of it ASAP because I need more muscle.. ALOT more muscle. So a friend of mine referred me to this other guy that goes to dealer auctions so I can gets me the hook ups! So I told him what kinda of car I have and I wont settle for anything less then an 03 or 04 cobra. I had my fun with the small engine and I am ready to go all out. Come this past Friday I get a call from the guy, he's at an auction and there is a sweet red cobra sitting there and he asks me if I want to bid on it. He sends me pictures via his phone to my phone so I was like FCUK YEA!! (My Avatar is the car I am talking about BTW).. I told him to bid up to 22,000 so he does and the auction ends. The car does not sell because the owner wanted atleast 23,000 for it. After the auction the owner comes up to my guy and is like "Hey I got this car on a trade-in about 6 months ago and I really need to get it sold." So my guy says that I really can't pay much more then 22,000 so the owner says he'll let go of it for 21,500. That sounds great rite?!?! Hells yea it did!! at the time.. We got the post sale inspection just to cover our asses incase something may be wrong with the car. The whole weekend goes by and I'm on the edge of my seat because I can't wait to get my new cobra. Now monday comes around and when I call to see what time that day I could pick up my car, I get terrible news. Turns out the post sale inspection found that the whole back end was making a wierd noise and they would have to open up the drive train or something to check out whats wrong. In addition to that my guy does a carfax on the car and it shows that when the dealer got the car back in the beginning of winter the car had 46,000 miles on it. Now the car has about 50,000 miles on it. SOOOO it looks like someone has been having some fun with the car in the mean time. And ontop of that, the car has 4 brand spanking new tires on it. Sounds to me like they had some fun beating on the car and probably messed up the back end in the prosses. NOW it makes sense why he was willing to get rid of it for only 21,500. He knew it had problems and just wanted to get it off his hands and didn't the we would get the post sale insection on it. Now I'm back to square one, still have slow ass v6 and my damn Avatar isn't even my car now =( I'm supper bummed and if anybody actually read this whole god damn long ass rant and would like to offer to cuddle to make me feel better, that would be very much appreciated!!

And you think all it really needed was just new gears? Cause I would have still gotten the car if that was all. OH and they said when you start the car up some smoke comes out of the pipes. But the guy put a chip in it and it's my understanding that sometimes a chip will make that happen??
could be that the chip is making it run rich? you could get a tune i think
i dunno much about the newedges though, so don't quote me on that
ok, well the guy I'm going through convinced me not to get the car because there could be hidden problems that might come up and it would be better to just look for a different one. Good news is that he's going to another auction today so hopefully there will be something there! I just made a new post. It's called coupe or convertable since I'm tourn between getting one or the other. Check it out if you have time and tell me what you think!

I guess you're rite in most cases that gt's and cobras have been beat on. My buddy got an '03 gt last year and now it's making a bunch of funny noises and is giving him all kinds of problems like just cutting out when he's sitting at a red light. I still am pretty set on getting on 03 or 04 cobra though. Rite now it's one of those things i just GOTTA have, ya know.
i went WOT about an hour and a half ago leaving work...oh.. and then the turn into my neighborhood i went WOT in first (only to 30)....stangs are meant to be beaten on man! just keep up the maintenance
my WOT runs are very short when i do have them....not allowed to speed since im on driving restriction for another year...another ticket and i lose my work/school privleges lol so WOT for me is usually just running out first every now and then

I did at least a couple of times on the way in to work this morning. But I have to to make a 97 GT go anywhere. That doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong with it. What you need to be worried about is people who run out their car when it's not warmed up. If you NEVER go WOT in a car, then there's not much point in buying a sports car. I've always found it funny when people would buy a fast car but thought they were hurting it anytime they ran it out.
exactly what i was getting at....these cars are designed to take a little abuse....i mean brake stands and donuts and 5k launches with drag radials, no....but WOT in our car is not going to hurt it, thats what it is designed for...

you should keep doing it though, its fun when i read ppl saying "im screwed do you think the judge will throw out 100 in a 40"
yea...ive had my car since last june and gotten 2 tickets already
71 in a 45 81 in a 65
so now when i have fun i make sure its only in first, that way i cant get nailed for speeding...and i know better than to launch from a light since they got sneaky tickets for that lol

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was too now that I read that. Sorry, I skipped past your post at first for some reason so I didn't know who else he was responding to. Not trying to yell at you s2k, just saying, you can certainly run out gears without speeding, and it's actually better for the car than driving it like a granny all the time, just make sure you do it once the car is warmed up and ready to run, and you don't do anything stupid like try to power shift and screw up.
