The bagpipes are the best damn instrument ever.  Add some fifes and some drums and you have the greatest music on earth.

Celtic music FTW.

EDIT: I find it funny you posted this while I am listening to celtic music, considering it is a pretty rare occurance these days.

Bagpipes.....I'll take a guitar any day, but hearing the bagpipes with the British Troops approaching at the end of Gunga Din was amazing.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

I love the bagpipes too.  We are the fighting Scots here at college, and have our own section in the band for the pipers.  It's a pretty good scholarship here too if you can play them...

with all the guitar/instrument threads popping up lately, i thought you guys should also know the rules for writing music:

here goes

to anyone who didnt know. having several songs in a major key and in common time makes you blink 182. these are the rules. i cant change them. thiusly, anyone yearning to write something different, each song must start in a different mode, preferably dorian or phrygian because building a mode off of a major scale is too blink 182 still. and the songs must all be in 5/4 or 9/8. nothing can be catchy or fun to play and if any part of the song repeats itself, even a facet of the drum beat, you should probably scrap it because if you play it, you will be a cliche pop punk band. no leads or solos can be written beforehand. all must be improvised. also no singular melody will be allowed. four part counterpoint is a minium, and none of the harmonies can line up in thirds or fifths. its best to do everything in minor 6ths or tritones. also, if the counterpoint was hetergenius, itd be for the best because the more eastern influence in the music the better. following all of these changes, you might want to stop using guitars, basses, and drums. as for a chord instrument you're only real choice will be the harmonium. for leads, bagpipes, mandola, or hammer dulcimer are acceptable. as for a low end, its prefferabe if you use a bassoon in order to mix the types of instruments. for rhythem i would suggest either tympanies or a collection of island drums to give it that reggae flare. and as far as vocals, why use one singer, when you can recruit an entire baroque period chamber choir? anything else would be foolish. each song must have for movements. we'd prefer it the first be fast, the second slow, and the third a dance movement, and the fourth fast again. gongs are a must at the end. anything less than this is in no way a musical thought and makes you a carbon copy of blink 182.

blink 182 may be described as ass or bad but you may not combine the two.

ohhhh yesterday i had a cool thought.

what if they made a drum set that when u hit it, it makes guitar sounds. and also vice versa. so when u play guitar it makes drum beats.

cool eh?

the k-thud noise is awesome.

drum circles are awesome (when done right).

those taiko drums are freakin' SWEET.  if you ever have a chance to see a taiko drum show, you should go.  10 foot tall drums RULE.

Because according to damach04 it would be making it sound like something else so even if you mastered it you wouldn't have any real musical talent.

The drum set could be easily accomplished with the electronic sets they already have, you would just just have to swap out the drum sounds.

steel drums are almost a must. and supporting didgeridoo's and sitars played in a 8/3 mixolydian mode are nothing short of necessary.
