I'm 17 and I want some ideas on what places I should work at. I worked at a grocery store for a year but quit because it bored me too much and I thought I could do better. Please no spam post your ideas.

I worked at a golf course and It was the best job I have ever had. I got amazing tips. And no, I wasn't a caddy.

um...

I was thinking the same for myself this summer but haven't really come up with anything.
I certainly don't wanna bag groceries or work at walmart.

I wonder if I could do anything for the race track or a car dealer or something...

*edit* 2k1gt, what did you do for the golf course? that sounds like a great idea and there's one right by my house.

Wegmans, Lowes, Time Warner cable... I've worked at Lowes and I work for Time Warner right now, both are great companies to work for. Wegmans is a great one too.

learn how to tile floors or something and do that for people you know...even if you do it for friends you end up making a lot.  my last job payed for my stereo and that was after the money was split between two people and i did it for dirt cheap because i really like the family and i know they dont have tons of money.  its a lot of work though.

If you could get on at a fancy restaurant I'd try it. Hard work, long hours, but well worth the payout.

I would do anything from picking people up in the parking lot in a golf cart and driving them to the pro shop, cleaning and restocking the carts after people finished, cleaning golf clubs and putting them back in the storage room, picking the balls up in the indoor driving range, every once and a while i would drive the ball picker on the driving range. Just stuff like that. It was a great job. I could make $100+ a day during tournaments in tips alone.

+1. I've worked at a golf course for the past 3 years. They just put in club storage this year and it's yielding great tip money. Clean carts, clubs, pick the range, ranger and yell at people, and send people off the first tee. Yep, thats what I do and way better than my gigs in retail and in the business world.

tile pays very well...just dont go around doing floors if you dont know what you're doing.  its fairly easy except your knees hurt by the end of it.  get good knee pads!

i started working in the kitchen in a nice resturant, and then when i turned 18 i moved to being a server

thats good because you know all the food already, so when your a server you can be more helpful for your tables and get better tips

and waiters BANK. for a kid at least. im a server at red lobster and i just pulled in $75 on a monday night, and $150 or higher isnt unusual for a decent friday night. its not that hard compared to the kitchen either

oh and another decent way to make money is by painting numbers on curbs...you'd actually be surprised how good it pays.  like $40+ an hour
