So, whats your opinion (or maybe fact) on nitrous and the V6? Can the V6 handle a NOS kit? If so, which kit do you recommend? If not, why?

I have the X-Charger now, but I was curious if my car would be able to handle a NOS kit. Or if it was only meant for the V8s.

Navbtcret already got a bottle on his Xcharger, he ran 12.36 last weekend with a 75 shot, and a AF of 10.5ish.   Car has more in it, he just has to get the gearing dialed in a little more.

Any idea what kit it was and if it was wet/dry? Any problems with it?

He runs the Zex wet nitrous kit.  No problems.

make sure you get a proper tune for nitrous....

the only problem with these cars is you cant change tunes on the fly like u could with the older mustangs... you have to reload each new one.. so if u had a tune made just for nitrous that retarded timeing or whatever.. when your not using the nitrous, you might get a performance decrease..

I have installed most of the components for a Zex wet kit (75 shot), I just havent had time to finish it..

I will not get a new tune, since its just a 75, I just retarded the engine timing by 3 degrees..

Its not a huge diff but makes the car run safely for when i spray.

If I were you I'd get a window switch, that way you can spray safely.

Btw.. anyone know where to hook the green wire on the window switch up to? lol
I can't find the tach signal anywhere.. Its diff than the GTs, cuz theirs just has it attached to the coil pack.. but we dont have that.. thanks bros.

Hey Fred...my install is done and running the 75 shot.  I'm on the 87 perf tune with one step colder plugs gapped @ .035. I thought I might be hearing a little pinging so to play it safe I'm mixing in a few gallons of 93 untill I have more time to sort it out.
Hook the green wire to a ground wire off one of the injectors. The red is the hot so use the other stripped one as that is the neg. Then set the Tach Signal on the window switch to '00' to register the proper RPM signal.
Right now I'm manually activating to get a feel for how early i can engage the spray.
I found a local shop to refil @ $3.75 lb so I'm pretty happy with that! PM me for any more info on my install if you'd like.

I was watching Muscle Car on TV and they did a segment on the Mustang Blocks cracking from Nitrous/SC the block will actually twist and crack, the fix was some supports under the intake Manifold that run side to side after you drill a 1/4 hole for some alignment pins. Anyone see that?

That was for the windsor block, not the cologne block (4.0 V6) so does not apply to us.   Very cool though.   The stock 5.0 is good for about 500 to the rear wheels, but with those supports, you can push it to 900 supposedly.   Interesting.

Thats correct.

@YT,

You don't need forged pistons to run nitrous.  You can run the 75 or 100 shot on our cars with a good tune.
