It took several hours, first to clean them up well, and then waiting between coats for the paint to dry. I used the G2 system - it is very thin and goes on in several coats using a small paint brush. It sets up in a couple of hours so you you have to do all four wheels at the same time.
I'm sure my neighbors liked seeing this for most of the day:

It took me a couple of hours just to get the calipers clean. A lot of brake cleaner, parts brush, and finally some wire brushing. The fronts were easier to get clean than the back calipers even though the brackets were already painted red (when I upgraded to the GT brakes last weekend the set up I bought had already been painted red)

Second set of pics - I'm not sure why that first one is showing up blurry - it looks fine when I open it from the folder.

Once the calipers were clean, it was time to start painting. I knew that these old business cards would come in handy one day:

The G2 instructions say to start with a very thin coat and let it dry for 15 minutes before doing more coats.

I thought I had another picture showing the full job, but can't find where it saved right now.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments.  The G2 paint is pretty good stuff - since I wanted white that seemed to be the only choice because the Duplicolor doesn't offer white.  Had to order it online because it wasn't in the local parts store.

I too used the G2 paint.  After mixing the activator, the paint started thin but by the time I was putting the third coat on the last two calipers, the paint was getting a bit thick.

The instructions say to wait 15 minutes between coats.  This is not a problem as by the time you finish painting the next three calipers, it has been more than 15 minutes!

The white calipers look great on your car, nice contrast.

I've been looking for a black decal but the only site I know of is xenonmods and I haven't heard back from him on my request.  He used to be able to sell the "running pony" decal but can't now, but on his site you can make a request for a custom decal and I have one in mind but until he responds they stay all white I guess.

I just noticed in your pictures that you have the "running pony" decals.  I have been trying to find those but haven't been able to come up with any.  Where did you get yours?

That looks good! Nice color choice.

I painted mine when I first got mine and used the ones wheelskin sales. They've held up pretty good untill I was washing her one day and a chip about the size of a nickle came off.

Does anyone have any idea how I can repair it cheap, without having to waste a whole kit/container of G2 Paint?

Thanks.

Nice look JimC! You did a great job. I really like the contrast, it looks awesome! Would you mind if I snagged your pics for our MySpace and our blog?

tmsmith, PM me or shoot me an e-mail and I can get that taken care of for you. G2 offers a 100% warranty on their product for the life of the vehicle.

I just painted mine today too. Only I painted them red and used the dupli color kit from autozone. I think it turned out pretty good.

No problem Bill - let me know if you need some different pics, I have a few more.  I used just the driver side front and rear when I posted up here - so if you need a different view let me know.

How long do you think they need to dry before you can get a carwash?

It doesn't say anywhere in the instructions on car washes.  The only thing it says is not to drive for 24 hours.  I've checked them after some one hour commutes this week and don't see any issues and will be washing the car this weekend.

Since the G2 is warranteed and they replace the paint if you get chips or flaking, and they don't caution against any car wash, I would think that the 24 hours is the limit they suggest.

You did a really good job cleaning those calipers!

I used the Dupli-color brush kit in red.
