so ya'll prolly remember that i have 2 10" dvc kickers. i also have a 750.1 and a 1000.1. so i have two options that ive been throwing around. despite my amps being said to be rated at 250 watts apart, the 'birthsheet' rating is only about 90 watts away from eachother. 978 vs 1066.

i know i wont get that out of themcause theyre overrated and such, but would the performance be better if i ran the single 1000.1 to both subs at 2 ohms or ran an amp to each sub (750 to one and 1000 to the other) at 4 ohms and gain matched them? i know i cant drop it below 2 ohms and the 'max' wattage these subs can see is 900 watts, rms being at 450.

and my third option is to wait till i blow these and get 2 4ohm DVCs and strap the amps for 2 ohms each. (which is what i will do ultimately)

can anyone help me with whether or not to run each sub at 4 ohms per amp/sub or both subs off of the 1000 at 2 ohms?

thanks.

strapping amps is not as easy as just wiring them up.  It takes two identical amps that have been designed to do so.

Running two subs off of two amps should only be done if the amps are identicle, and ideally if you have an oscilliscope to tune the two amps.

Run one amp.

^^ not all amps are strapable and u would need two of the exact same amps.
