a 250 would prob be in the mid 14's i think, and thats prob best rider, best conditions, etc.......

the 2008 kawasaki ninja 250 is an amazing bike, i LOVE the power of a 1000, but you cant beat the good looks, cheap price, and 70+mpg....
the ninja has prob around 30hp, and 18ftlbs..... but the bike is prob 100-150lbs lighter then my bike.
you wont be whoopin up on ppl, but you wont be getting passed (well, on the highway over 80mph a ptcruiser will dust you)
go for it.
my real advice, most realistic, and best bet, is to wait untill the 08' ninjas start selling, then buy a older 250, you can find 250's for $1500!!!!
there god ugly, but it will save you some cash
(listen for engine knocking, bald tires, suspention that bottoms out under pressure, crappy brakes, klunky shifting, and make sure gadges and lights work)
Thanks for the advice. Coming from a guy with some experience under his belt ill listen wisely. I was reading somewhere and it said a 250 would be good for about 65 or so but a 08 Ninja 250 will do 70 at least right? The no top end would probably be best anyways incase I do decide to try and get brave one night I wont be going very fast lol.

i rode with a guy that was 250lbs, and he could only hit 90mph at best (down hill, wind, etc) thats on the old 250 ninjas
if your a lighter guy, you could hit 90mph as a top speed on a flat serface.
if you do get the bike, dont be afraid to rev her up, shes not going to make power under 5k rpm, on the 250 youll be at 7k-8k rpm on the highway, these bike will take a beating, its almost impossible to blow the engine, and i really mean that.
also, dont skip out on gear, buy a nice helmet, jacket, and gloves.

a honda or harley wont get 70mpg ever.
a ninja 250 is cheap on insurance (buddy was 25 payed $25 a mth for full coverage)
a harley is heavy, and boring, and a honda 600 is a little to much power
the **** about "its as fast as you twist the throttle" is just hard headed **** talk!
you mean your NEVER EVER going to wind the throttle to much, and dump the clutch a little to fast at the same time on accident??
on a 250, you would lerch forward a little, on a 600, youll be on your ass with the bike on top of you
and if your riding a hr, and sport bike is gonna suck, but a 250 has a upright position, and is very comfy for a "sport bike"
some company's make 125, 250, 500 cruisers, that are pretty cheap, 3k-5k but you wont find them very often used, the 250 you will always find a ton of, and they will always have good prices.
its the most logical choice.

i hope you have.
if i dident buy my sv, i was going to buy the 675, but i sat on the bike, and that is by far, the most uncomfortable bike ive ever sat on, by far.... im 5'8'' not to tall, but man, you must have iron nuts, or you must be pretty f'in tall to stand that ****

yeah i've sat on it and it is quite uncomfortable at first but once you get moving its not too bad and i plan on getting the gel seat for it
i'm 6'2 btw so the height doesnt bother me .. just the ergonomics kinda get me where you lean forward so far but its not too bad .. the awesomeness of the looks and the amazing engine makes up for it and its not really for long rides

i fell in love with the 675 the first time i heard the intake in the upper rpms, i love the idle too, ****ing sex
the SV1000 was the next choice, and after sitting on both, i liked the sv better
(plus the sv had more down low trq, whitch i love, and you cant beat the v-twin sound on a sport bike)

the only thing i really wish my bike had that the 675 is the wet weight
for the 675 i think its like 415lbs? wet?
