SOOOOO what are you saying that a mustang cant have vertical doors??? WHY NOT!! what if someone wants the vertical doors and cant afford a lambo, or S7???? Anyone who knows anything about cars knows the difference between rice and just a good looking car. I dont care if "mustangs are made to have regular doors" if you want to be unique then why an the hell not. Go with the lambos who cares what anyone says, I dont see how anyone would talk crap cuz you have lambos if anything youll get compliments... itll look bad a** and everyone will be jealous. Its not like you have a civic, you own a BAD A** MUSTANG!! So if you really want it go for it, if your happy then thats all that matters

Anyways, if it's a mustang body kit, that's definitely not rice. Huge spoilers, flashy graphics, weird paint, etc... is definitely ricey. Rims are not ricey either... we can't help it the stock ones (except cobras and machs) SUCK! Why not change them?

If its a saleen body kit then I dont mind as long as you have the power to back it up. As for the rims, aftermarket 17" and 18" rims are okay, but when you put 20s on a stang im sorry but it looks like s***, you want 20s buy an explorer. I actually like the stock 99 and 00 GT rims, because they are mustang rims. Like i said before dont make a car something its not, and Jimmz, The Saleen S7, Enzo and Lambos are all designed to have vertical doors, the mustang is designed to have regular doors.

Haha, 20s on a stang would be scary!

It's probably mess the car up too.

I think buying a lambo door kit is the biggest waste of money that there may be. 1500 for a decent kit, why pay 1500 for freaking hinges that cost some company a 100 dollars to make. I just don't understand why it would cost so much, don't they know if they would even drop the price to at least half, I bet they would sell so much more, and still make plenty. I had a friend who honestly fabbed his own kit, and it worked, never leaked and looked like a professional kit. It cost him about 150 dollars in parts and yes a bit of time to fab, but he did it in his garage for 1300 dollars less. Come on,you could, port & polish, or buy almost all the bolts on for you can think of for this amount.

Lambo doors rock, I want themsoo bad. The latest issue or perhaps last months issue of MM&FF did an article and install of vertical doors. those doors are heavy took 4 ppl to hold them up and get them line dupto put the hinge sin. It's the install that costs the big bucks. But they walked through it and it seemed pretty simply minus the number of people involved. I love the look and if I didn't need PI heads/intake then I would spend my imaginary 1300 bucks on lambo doors.

def. do the lambos. I myself have done some research on them too. Just be aware of the cheaper kits cause they may leak and stuff. I was looking at the GTfactory kit and a few others. Mr.BodyKit was one too. I would definitely call them and have some question about the doors before just ordering them. How to adjust, warranty, replacement pistons, insurance issues(talked to my company and they said that there was no safety issue so that I just had to document them by pictures(like I wouldnt have any) in case of theft),etc. Definitely go for it man. I also looked into suicides but thought they would be bad on a big door like a stangs'.......or suicide lambos...

I don't like the suicides either. I can't imagine having to open it from the other side, that's just kinda strange. lol.

Let us know what happens with the lambos and what kit you go with. I'm sure some other people reading the boards may be interested.

Thoughts on lambo doors.

1.) All kits are too expensive. They are hurting themselves because a good kit in the right price range would outsell everyone elses and these aren't exactly complicated.
2.) Flimsy... Thats right, when the doors are up, they will move with the wind on a windy day. There is no way around it. With those hinges, you do need to be more careful.
3.) Fender clearance.... I've heard people needed to roll or cut other holes into their fenders to allow clearance for the whole mechanism to work.
4.) Wires... All of the wires that go to your door are exposed. If they are too short, you'll need an extension harness. Furthermore, I seriously suggest getting some sort of loom to keep all of the wires together and clean it all off.
5.) Warranty... Even if it has a warranty (which would be nice), if the shock or something breakes, it's gonna be a major PITA. You'll have to take your door off to take off the old parts and send them away. If the process is reversable and you can manage to put the old door hing back on, you get to be that cool guy with one lambo door and one regular one for a couple weeks while you wait to get the replacement part back (probably at your shipping cost).

Excellent Point on #4. I looked back at the picture on this thread. The wiring has been moved from the stock location. That's asking for trouble (Pinching, chaffing, shorting, etc.)

I like lambo doors but on a daily drive i think it would be a pain in the arse.

On the other points:
#1) Compared to what? One could argue Turbo Chargers are expensive.
2) Doesn't mean flimsy, just means the hinges were not designed necessarily to take that into account
3) Depends on the kit, no direct experience with them so...dunno. Some of the tire and rim combinations choosen on here cause the owner to roll their fenders....
and 5) Same as 1) Turbo chargers break..so do SC and other bolt-ons. I do agree on the parts though..those gas shocks do not seem like something you could pick up at any regular parts store.

Guys
I’m new here but do me a favor. I hate to bag on a company like this but please think twice b-4 u order anything from misterbodykit.com . I looked at them for a while and called them and all that . they do not stock there own parts they take your money and order parts on your behalf and have them shipped to you. they told me that I would receive my parts in 4-6 weeks after 8 I had to call them to see what was up then I only got half my order at first it was nearly 10 weeks before I got my parts . I wont name the company but the "high quality" body kit the sold me was crap!!! it was practically see through. my dad/ body man was furious. when he called to tell them the problem they told him to take it to a certified body tech because he didn’t know what he was doing. and they wouldn’t refund the money unless we sent it to not them but the company the had acquired it from soon after paint the fiberglass hood crackled
