Well after about a month of reasearching and thinking about tires i ordered a set of Nitto Invos from discount tire. I went with a 275/35-20 front and 295/35-20 rear.

I really wanted to go with a 305/35 rear but$1000 for two rears is moremoney than i wanted to spend on a tire thats not going to last 20k miles. (pirelli, ect)

These tires are decently priced ($289) and seem to be getting good reviews and the 295 should fit my 10 inch wheel much better than my 275's. Ill take some pics when they come in.

BTW Mickey - how are those sportline springs working for you? you have the 275 fronts still right? i want to pick up a set if they arent going to rub.

thanks for the info on the tires. I have always used michelin ps2, but get ready the ugliest bill you can imagine.

Might I ask why you went with the Invo's as opposed to the 555's? The reason I ask is because i currently have the 555's and love them, however,if the Invo's are superior I will switch to them when I need new ones.

i went with the invo because i have a 10" rear wheel and i wanted something wider but i also wanted to stay with a 35 sidewall. and i like how the fronts fit so i wanted the same size front with matching tread. seems to be a hard to find combo without going to pirelli.

plus ive only heard good things about the tire. still not sure about the funky look tho.

I just wish someone made a significantly wider 18" tire. I'd love a set of 315's on the back but no one seems to make an 18" tire in that size except for a drag radial which just won't work for me up here... too much rain and cold.

coincidentally, Washington State is my old home stomping ground, I'm fromm around the Tacoma area. :)

The tires actually work really quite well. Some people have complained that the sidewalls are "soft" but I sure haven't noticed anthing like that. They've handled cold weather really well. I only drove it a few times this winter but it still handled well even at sub-freezing temps.

Just don't try to drive on snow with them! Not even a little bit! I pulled my car out of my driveway once this winter to clear the snow from around the car (@#$%^ garage is too small for the car!) and it took me 20 minutes to get the car back in the driveway. These tires have absolutely NO traction in snow.

I guess the "nutshell" review I'd give is that they're a good "all around" tire (except snow). They don't accelerate as well as a DR or "summer only" tire when it's hot out, but they handle a LOT better when it's cold out.

I might go to a "summer only" tire once these wear out and then have a separate set of wheels with blizzaks on them for winter, but until then, these are working quite well.

im just hoping that they perform as well or better than my dunlops. the dunlops dont do snow either but I have a second car for that anyways.

i was looking at the PS2's because ive seen you swear by them numerous times but there was a decent price difference between the 2so idecided to go cheaper since i only go to the track once a year.
plus its too late now because i already bought them. i should be having them installed this weekend.

You can actually get them to fit with some modifications to LCA's and going with 18" wheels :D

I am serrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrioussssssly looking at getting my rims widened 1" in front (if I can find the room :eek:) to 10"sso I can run 295/30's up there. And going at least 1/2" on rears so my future 315's will fit better. I would LOVE to squeeze a set of 335's under there, but nobody makes a 25 series tire in an 18" [:o]

The Jazzer has some serrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrioussssss woes :(

damn! 295's up front? lol, I think you'd need a rack limiter. You'd have the turning radius of a school bus!

As for the 25 series... bah! go with 30's or 35's, fill the wheel well up better! :D c'mon I want to see the 335's on someones car. lol, prove to me that it'll work before i spend MY money on it!

OMG!!! If 305s fit that perfectly on the rear, I may have to burn through my current 275s faster than I planned. Did you need the Saleen Watts Link suspension for the rear wheels to fit, or are you running the stock S281 rear suspension setup?

PLEASE post more pics of how your rear wheels fit (including pics straight from behind)!

I have the stock Saleen rear suspension...the 305s are the sexiest thing I have added to my car in a long time...I get compliments on these tires night and day now...looks soooo much more aggressive. I will post more pics when I can take some. Thanks for the compliment Stu!

I had the chance to meet and talk with Jonesy at the event. Very nice guy...he can offer a second opinion on the tires if he chimes in

Jazzer, as for our 99-04's I like the size of the 18" weel, but really don't like how "thin" the tires end up looking. I have 275/35/18's on 9" wheels on the rear right now and I like the width (although I'd LOVE to go wider!) but I'm not so thrilled with how "thin" the profile is. I think I'd like it better with a 275/40 or maybe even 275/45.

A 275/40 would have a stock profile/sidewall of 4.3" but the tire overall would be a full 1" taller at 26.7". 275/45 would have a profile/sidewall of about 4.9", but would be a full 2" overall taller tire at 27.7". I'd imagine that rubbing would be imminent with either of those.

Oh well, someday I'll get it figured out.

Maybe you'll get those 335's on there with a 35 profile and prove to me that it can be done. :D Then I'm all over it!

the new extremes come with 305's in the rear. i was checking one out at frontier ford on saturday. im 100% positive they wont rub with stock saleen suspension

The tires on Mickey's car look great.They are right on the edge. The fender lips are rolled from the factory so if you corner hard it should clear. I too would be interested if it rubs with someone in the back seat, not that anyone ever rides there.

Remember, Mickeys car is lower than stock so, imo, at stock ride height you should not have rubbing issues. Look at the posted pic again and look at the tires on the car to the left.

The best thing Mickey stated is that the car actually hooks up with this size tire. Power to the ground! Thats worth every penny it costs to buy the tires.

468, the new extreme does have 305 rears but also comes with the watts link as well.

Personally, Ilike the rubber band look, and would not go higher profile to fill well. I would rather lower car down to close gap [8D]. I could drop my car further but would have some serious clearance issues with some of the sections of road I drive regularly at less than.....huhummm.... skool-bus speeds :). If I get too low a profile, the cornering will suffer, and cannot have that [sm=signs006.gif]. My 293/30's on 10.5"s don't rub anywhere, but have a larger gap than Mickey's ride. If I were able to find 335/25/18"s, I would hog out the entire rear-end to squeeze some of those baby's under there [sm=signs007.gif].

Just today I saw an '86 Fox body running 245/30/22's!!!! It was not lowered andwas parked, so I have no idea if there are clearance issues, but shows to go ya, you can fit almost anything you want if you try. That car came with 225/60/15"s back in 'a day.

Did some measuring and un-able to widen fronts 1" as wheel willhit the coil-overs[:o]. I can go 1/2", but not sure it is worth it as $225 per wheel cost, before shipping, to/from Weldcraft Wheels (http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/Wide.htm). I will, however, be able to widen rears 1/2" to make 11" wide and get over 12.5" of contact patch on road [sm=lol.gif]
