I have a 2001 3.8 conv. My battery drains down overnight. I have pulled the radio fuse and the battery hasn't died since. What can i do to fix this problem?

tell us a little about your system. Not colors shapes or sizes but model numbers and how they are wired........

It has a mach 460 system. model ID 2R3T-18C815-BC. not sure how it's wired

100% stock? deck amps and speakers?

Do you have a multi-meter, and know how to use the amp-meter section of it?

yes 100%, and i do have a multi-meter. not 100% sure on how to use the amp part though

wow, this is strange then. If you have it isolated to the one fuse then you may not need the amp meter. An amp meter is different from a volt meter because it need to be put in series with the circuit, where a volt meter goes in parallel. What this means is that you will need to disconnect one side of the battery(either, doesn't matter) and then put the neg of the meter to the neg on the battery and the pos to the wire you just disconnected. With this done, and the key off you can read the current drain on the battery and if you had not already isolated the circuit you can pull fuses one at a time until the current draw drops. In your case I would hook up the amp meter, and then try disconnecting the amps to isolate which amp is not turning off by disconnecting them one at a time.

There are 3 amps right? 2 in the trunk and the other is in the radio? I have the 2 in the trunk unhooked. I left the radio/fuse disconnected last night. I went out this morning and hooked the radio/fuse up and the battery dropped 2 volts.

you have the amp locations correct, when you put the fuse in the amps were both connected? Try disconnecting the amps now.

Both amps in the trunk were disconnected
