Default Rubbing noise but no rub???!!

So I have had my new wheels and tires on for a couple days now

03 Cobra 17x9s 275/40 tires

I didnt have any rub issues, slight rub on the front sway bar when all they way cranked but its rare I have the wheel cranked that far over. Anyways just driving around as I slow down I hear what sounds like a rubbing noise but Ive checked all over and the tires are not touching anything anywhere. Any suggestions in what I should be looking for?

You may have a slightly warped brake disc and rubs on caliper. Does the sound stop when brakes are applied? Does the car "shimmy" when braking hard? You can also jack up car at each corner and spin tires manually and will be able to hear which tire and isolate sound. Also confirm you have all your lugs tight, slightly loose lugs will make some noise as well.

Ill check the lugs, but if I have a warped caliper why would I only notice the noise now after changing the wheels? I dont believe there is a shimmy but I will do some more braking today, the noise seems to slow as a brake to slow down, but on faster stops, you dont hear it.

Possibly a "dinged" rotor that is clicking on brake pad. Do confirm lugs are tight first, before you go after more difficult diagnisis. Also, brand new wheels will "set" on hubs and anchor points and need re-torquing after a short time of driving. If not these items, lift car and rotate wheels and you will figure it out.

There probably is a spot that is rubbing that you don't notice. If that is all you did was change the wheels and tires out, then that is what it is. A rubbing tire somewhere.

Sorry for the slow reply. It was acutally the lugs, I had to re torque them. I was surprised that they losened that fast, I was expecting to have to do it in a week or so
