I chose the AEM Brute Force for my 4.0....I felt a slightly better performance in my mustang, but I felt like it needed more. Therefore, I ordered a tune from VMP which should be arriving on friday. I ordered my CAI from a performance shop which concentrates more on imports. They state that they would choose AEM over K&N due to the reason that the oil on the K&N air filters were known for screwing up the a/f sensor. They also state that AEM takes more time on producing their CAI's.
the AEM is a decent intake, performance wise (it was my first intake before upgrading to the C&L) and it does look pretty good under the hood. regardless of what they said about the oil, you will get better results with a cotton gauze filter. i swapped the dryflow with an S&B powerstack filter and the difference was noticeable. throttle repsonse was much improved. the difference between my current C&L and my old AEM w/ S&B filter using the same bama tunes is very small.

the factory air box is already rated at 7X the amount of air that the motor can handel.... any non-tune cai will net 1-2 hp equally so if you really want one get an ebay one or something
S&B is a decent intake that dosn't require a tune. plus they are a major manufacture of air filters.
Plus they manufacture to ISO standards where no one else does. Visit their website. I just bought replacement from them, returned my original UPS which they will refurbish for me FREE, then will call me for credit card number for frt return. Put original on the shelf for couple years for use 2 more years and give car to my granddaughter after that. For performance, I get 2mpg or 29-31mpg in warm weather via interstate hwy doing 72mph or 120 miles a day. Stats on S&B will assure you of maximum air flow trapping max dirt thrown at it. I wouldn't doubt S&B makes for C&L...Roush...etc which I cannot confirm. No waste of tune....$$$ when only a 6. CAI sounds loud making you think is really fast and probably if you go with additional tune, will only amount to .0002 sec in the qtr mile and .23mph faster. October 07 MM&FF Magazine they took a GT with Automatic installed 3 different makes of CAI's with one requiring a tune. Results, SAVE YOUR MONEY if you think makes the vehicle faster.
