Here are what the cams say
1st Cam: *R Int 661
*HP 282
2nd Cam:*R I 663
*HP 282

Why is that top number different? Shurly that "663" cant mean .663" lift, that would be massive! I take it that 282 is the duration. If that is the lift then that would mean the 661 is the exhaust x_x

These HP cams came with the 97' Cobra. They were $1300 and only have 20 miles on them. The moron owner at Injected Racing in Springfield Mo put the cam caps on backwards chewing up the cams pretty badly.

The lobes look great but where they rest on the cam caps is really bad.

Follow my link to veiw full sized pictures. Sorry about the quality, it was a last moment thing in the bathroom and I didnt have my lightbox set up. http://www.flickr.com/photos/crainracing/

Is there anything I can do to repair these? How much will it cost? Can I send these back to HP for repair? And what about the heads, I get the ported heads too but I havnt seen them yet. Do you think I can save the heads, any way to repair them or are they a lost cause now?

Also sorry its only those two, the other two arent here yet.

Now as for what these are, the previous owner didnt know the specs, just how much he paid. The pictures show the only identification on the cams.

Once again these came with a 97' Cobra we bought, just extra cream on that sweet deal.

I also wanted to mention that one of the cams has a very brown tinge on a couple of the lobes and shaft between, I know thats caused from excessive heat, could that have damaged or weakened the cam? Should I check it for streightness?

Thanks everyone, I would hate to waste such awesome expensive cams and heads.

You can click on the picture and choose all sizes, then save it or open it. It will be a much larger picture. But again the quality is crap because it was in a poorly lit bathroom and I didnt have my lightbox together at the time.

Also I didnt feel like going off the auto settings on the ol Canon XTi.

Just take them to a local machine shop and ask them.
