the whole concept behind claying is to remove all of the little contaminants stuck in your paint. right now, your paint may feel somewhat like sandpaper, but when you get through it will be as smooth as glass. you can pick up claybar kits at pretty much any autoparts stores. they usually consist of a spray lubricant (same as quick detailer) and a bar of clay. you cant just go and pick up some modeling clay from the craft store and use that. clay bars also come in different agressiveness, some are made to pull more stuff out of your paint than others. if you have never clayed your car, then it will probably benefit greatly from it. run to autozone or somewhere, and pick up a kit (i prefer clay magic kit) which are usually between $10-20. Its very easy to do, after you wash the car, just spray on some lubricant and gently rub the clay back and forth over the surface of the paint, no pressure needed. clay a panel, then wipe off the spray, then knead the clay to get to a clean area of it, then start on the next panel. whole process wont take more than 30 mins. make sure you dont drop the clay, if you do, then trash it. after you get done claying, then you are going to need to polish/wax like you normally do.
