Next year i have to sell my mustang. Im going to college and need something bigger and a little better on gas... I have looked at the Chevy HHR and the Pontiac G6.  What would you suggest. Anything really, but not anything foreighn because they won't help me buy one of those.. It can't be over $17,000. The ford Edge is cool too.. but bad on gas...

the HHR is a really nice car, Ironically I was looking into one after I graduate as a DD since my mustang is gonna become a weekend car then.

comfy interior, things are where you need it, cargo space etc.

I got to sit in the SS version with the turbo, really nice interior in that thing, and it has a boost gauge on the a-pillar which is kinda cool, and IMO, the shifter wasnt too bad, I got to "row through the gears" a bit lol..

the new economy chebbys havnt been too bad lately.  my roommate has a cobalt LT coupe and the thing, aside from one bad axle bearing or something, has been mechanically flawless, tho the cloth seats stain easily

or you can get a used Focus SVT, tho I think they need premium fuel....

I don't want anything too big.. .mostly smaller 4-door.  I really liked the HHR because there isnt' that many but lots of ppl hate them... don't care.. but the g6 looks a little girly... i guess that is the only draw back... it doenst have to be brand new so thats why my price is kinda low...

I like the looks of the HHR.    I tend to notice them on the road too.   Not bad.  They seem to be taking sales from the PT Cruiser, which has found its popularity sinking.

The HHR does seem to offer a nice package of features and has the utility of space inside.   Don't know much about its gas mileage though.

How about the Dodge Caliber?    I don't think they are too pricey and might be a competitive match with the HHR in features and versatility.

I keep coming up with other good options, but they fall into the 'foreign' category.

Why not a new Mustang V6? Decent gas mileage and within your price range if you look around for a deal.

when you go to college most likely you wont be driving a lot. I drive less then one day a week. Everything i need to live on i can fit in a mustang. Except my office chair i bough while i was here. A good car to have on gas is actually a Kia rio. sure its 93 hp but my cousin had one and i have to say im impressed with the amount of miles he raked up on it with nothing broken.
