Me and a few friends went out for a ride through the twisties after work the other day and I got a resisting arrest ticket.

I was on my Daytona 675 and 3 of my friends were on Gixxer 600s. There is a great twisty road not to far from where I live that leads to nowhere so there are virtually no cars. We were carvin up the corners for about 20-30 minutes when we decided to pull over and take a break and have a smoke. About 5 minutes after we stopped a trooper came flying up on us, jumped out of his car and pulled his piece out on ME. Apparently he saw me flying through the corners 10 miles or so back and had been following us with his lights on ever since. Ha ha

So, he arrested me, impounded my bike and I sat in the police station for about 5 hours before I could talk to the judge.

I told the judge the complete truth and he dropped all the charges. I only had to pay $55 for the tow of the bike. Apparently he rides a 1000RR and loves the twisty road that I got busted on. I gave Lt. Dangle (the dude that arrested me) a wink and a smile as I was walking out of the court house…it was pretty classic.

+1 for me -1 for the Tucson police department. J

I thought so too...that was the 1st time I've ever had a gun pointed at me. It pretty much scared the **** out of me. ha ha

I probably would have been a smart ass if he didnt have his gun out so it might have actually saved my ass. lol

Yeah, that was completely inappropriate.  Gotta watch out for those dangerous gang-bangin' bike riders.

Makes me wonder why he targeted you specifically.  Did he get your buddies too?

Na, I had to pull over and tie my boot so I was probably about a half mile behind them. He came up over a hill on a road that intersected the road that we were on. I really think I was the only one that he saw.

thats cool you got off the charges. sucks you had to get arrested tho.

related story:

Me and a friend were in my car, about to go cruise down to the lake. we had an L rolled up and were about to spark it, when my friend suggested we wait till we got into the next county where there are fewer cops. Just as we were about to cross into the next county all i saw were lights...i thought. **** im getting a ticket.

So i pulled over, and he went by me and started going after the guy in front of me. I near shat myself. Well, this guy was doing the EXACT speed limit, but didnt care to stop for the cop. We followed them for lik 5-6 miles (not intentionally, they were just going the same way as us). The guy pulls over in a driveway (i assume his house) and the cop jumps out of his car, gun drawn. Was crazy.

Why would the cop think you were trying to out run him when you were pulled over for a smoke break?

Well, where we were smoking was behind some trees off the road a little bit. He thought I was hiding from him.

If he dropped all charges doesn't that mean you did nothing wrong?  If that's the case why should you pay for the tow when it was towed away wrongfully?

Also $50 is a steal.  After I was involved in a car accident my motorcycle was towed 2 miles for $180.00.  Of course the other guy's insurance paid it so I didn't care.

No, I acknowledged that what I was doing was against the law. He had a copy of my 100% clean driving record of the last 12 years and pretty much gave me a warning. He said pay to have the bike towed and call it even. If I get caught doing anything like that again he’s gunna “put the hammer down”. It probably helped that I’m in the military too. Law enforcement usually cuts us some slack.

and then the cop thought he was still resisting arrest when he stopped to smoke?  stupidass cops like that should be stoned, and I don't mean the good kind.
