Got a few questions about buffing with a P/C.

How is the best way to get the hard to reach spots? (like the part above the door handle, right where the window meets the door.)

How about auto badges, can you go over them?

Plastics and rubber, do you have to tape off your car?

How about under the wing?

Any tips from people who have done this to a 2000-2004?

Yes Alex, that is the one. Having just looked around for the best priced one though, You may want to consider buying a kit. The pads and other items needed to complete the process are costly and a kit seems to be a money saver.

You want to tape off around badges and rubber trim.  Under the wing and door handles it is best to do by hand.

Alex I sell Porter Cable packages, you will actually save money buying it with the backing plate, pads and polishes.  Here is a link to my stuff.... http://www.obsessivedetail.com/Buffer.html

Since you are a member here you will get $10 off the Porter Cable kits and 10% off of products and accessories.

I'm not sure if Porter has a small random orbital machine, this is what I use

http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+care/car+polishing/orbitals+and+car+polishing+tools/professional+3%22+random+orbital.do

I have found this little 3" random orbital machine to be very useful on those hard to detail places our cars have.  It's a bit precey, but money well spent I think.  Some places I find this useful......A Pillars and the underside if those 1/4 windows, license plate molding, that little piece between the grille and the headlamps (headlamp covers--with glass polish) side scoops, hood scoop, 1/4 window louvers, spoilers, bumpers....anywhere our 6" random orbital might not get the job done well.
