So I know you have all seen this installed on a normal gas cap, but I myself had never seen one installed on an aftermarket fuel door. So here's my newest mod:

EDIT (dedicated to yellow tang): This mod opens the doors ON THE CAR. lol

Tadah!

Just to show you it still sits flush.

its the newest keyless entry (the small kind). I'll search where I got it if you all really want..
total price (shipping included) was $82. it unlocks my door, unlocks both doors, and locks them, depending on the order I push the keys in. I like it alot!

LOL You Got me On this FRED LOL I thought it was keyless for the gas cap so no one could steal your gas and I though its not going to work because you put it on the inside of the fuel door what good is it LOL My brain just kicked into gear at this point and I see it is to hide the pad and is for the doors. YellowTang slow off de starting line again people LOL

I saw that at Fords site, the keyless entry pad. Pretty slick location! I just wish that thing would work on the 2005's! (it said 06+)

I'm 95% sure it WILL work on the 05's.

I would call and ask a dealer if I were you.

haha, lmao!

I should get a sticky for "easier than tying your shoe" mods.

that would be cool. to have a style of "how to's" named after me

and to Devil Wolf, yes, it is 3M taped on. I guess someone COULD steal it.
but first they would have to find it lol.. and even then, it wouldnt matter. I am putting in a Ravelco anti theft system in a month or so. so IF they managed to get in my car with the remote they couldnt start the car.

Its more for convenience than anything. Like someone said, they go to the beach they just leave their keys locked in the car. makes sense to me.

lol nice...I had the keypad on an F50 and miss it on my Mustang...very convenient as you've pointed out...Was debating about getting one, but didn't know if I wanted to have a protruding rectangle on the door (rather than inside the door like factory ones). Now you've got me thinking again....

Nice idea, does it also pop the trunk open?  I had that on my Explorer and it would open all the doors and the hatch depedning upon how I entered the code, and I really missed it the day I locked my keys in my jacket pocket in the trunk an hour and a half away from home!  I had already unlocked the car doors so could get in the car, but no way to get into the trunk in a convertible (there is a panel blocking access on the convertible).

^^^

I did think of setting that up, but I decided it was hardly worth the trouble of asking how to since I can just climb into the trunk from my back seats.

I would imagine you can do it, its just a simple button like a key fob. Someone at the dealership could probably do it for you.

I just kept mine how it came.

Wow that is bad ass. If it would work for the trunk that would make my day. The only thing that would be odd is going over and opening your gas cap when people are watching you. May look sort of suspicious... But anyway that is sweet!!!
