Well first of all i wanted to stop in a say hello i just picked up a 96 cobra about a month ago and i love it. BUT about 3 weeks ago i was driving home from school when i noticed a little bit of steam coming from under the hood. I pulled over and then all the sudden radiator coolant started pooring out everywhere. i figured it was just a bad hose. when we tried to start the car after that it would start up then shut right off after about a second. We replaced all the hoses and a couple of other things that needed to be done but we just tried to start it again and it did the same thing. It starts up then shuts right off. we checked all the fuses and they were fine. We just replaced all of the spark plugs and wires and nothing. Im really hoping it might be the fuel filter and not the fuel injection system.

What do you guys think that it could be? I am propably going to buy a scanner and see if that can help me but i really need to figure it out soon

sorry for the long read and any thoughts and imput would be greatly appreciated

Do you have a check engine light?

If you have a autozone where you live you can stop in there and i think you give them a deposit of $50 and they give you the scanner you can go home scan your car and find out the code number. Bring the scanner back to autozone they will give you your 50$ back and you can tell them the code and they will look it up and tell you what it is.

I think that would be the best bet at this time. go with what Mustang3GT said. And then go from there

oh well i actuall already have a scanner the check engine light was on before for a different reason but i fixed that the other day and now no codes come up a couple of people on the other forum i go on said that when i blew the hose fluid might have gotten on a sensor or something so i checked all the sensors under the car and one of them ( the crankshaft position sensor) had some liquid in it but even after we got it all cleaned up it didnt help.

im almost positive that it has to be something directly related to the coolant leak issue because when i bought the car it ran fine never had any trouble starting or staying started like this
