Did anyone watch it? What a horrible display from the moderators. They asked ALMOST nothing about any actual issues. Infact the main issue they pressed on and on and on about was capital gains taxes?? How many people does that actually effect? These debates are supposed to press candidates on issues like gun control, immigration, taxes, high gas prices, the mortgage crisis, forclosure problems, or numerous other things.. There are literally hundreds of things that could be asked that would be much more relevent.. Half the questions were illicited a full on /facepalm reaction.. uhhg.

This is a great article about it I noticed on fark this morning:

I think cap gains taxes are a concern.

but I didn't see the debate, I've pretty much given up on that crap.  none of the candidates directly answer the questions addressed to them, anyway.

Did you watch the debate? It wasnt that there was softball questions, or liberal policy questions that the candidates could use to make themselves look good.. oranything like that.. there were just inane dumb questions that seemed more like they were trying to make them candidates look bad or make the entire country look like a bunch of fools to the rest of the world. I would bitch about softball questions also.. but seriously.. some of the questions were just mind boggling..

These two questions stick out the most to me:
"Senator Obama, does Rev. Wright love America as much as you do?"

and

"Senator Obama, do you believe in the flag?" - Seriously... what the ****? Is the flag now the easter bunny? They can ask this stupid ass question, but not a single question about our relationship with China? Or gas prices? Or immigration?

Those arent softball questions.. those are mentally retarded questions. Both candidates looked like they were trying not to just rip into the moderators asses, and were actually having to bring up relevent topics on their own. It was absolutely pathetic. ABC should never be allowed to host another debate after that.

heh....not really a suprise to me.  were they paid by the candidates?

i really can't believe some of this ****ing **** that i see/hear about the possible presidents.  the big thing they talk about is the war (if i'm wrong feel free to point it out)....and not much else.  i guess it just falls back on what the public wants to hear because i don't really believe many people care much about the other important issues, unless it affects them directly (in this case, it is the war because so many families have loved ones overseas fighting for us).

basically, it reminds me of a girl joining MF and starting a thread.  then several OTers post TITS OR GTFO, and the girl gives them TITS  (what they want, much like what the general public wants to hear from presidential candidates)...which results with several members saying 'ya i wanna **** you' despite not knowing if its really a dude or if they have STDs....or seeing any other part of their body, or even knowing how old they are (or is the pic even photoshopped?).

i bet if jay leno went out to the streets and asked 20 people who they are going to vote for and why, few of them would say because they agree on the majority of the issues at hand in the USA.  good **** america....are the current/previous presidents really to blame?

seems to me that these are the kinds of things that concern middle america.  how many times have you seen people mention the falsehoods of obama being a muslim who got sworn into office on a koran and refuses to salute the flag as a big reason why they won't vote for him?  sounds like they were catering to the majority of americans with the stupid questions.  the politicians aren't stupid, it's simply that dumb americans have been brainwashed by politicians to the point that they don't care about anything with substance anymore.

Thats the thing.. if they were paid by the candidates, or trying to help the candidates, or anything like that, then there would have been lots of softball easy questions about issues, things that they state on every campaign stop and all over their website, that they can speak completely from memory on. I hate those type of questions also.. but atleast they are somewhat relevent.. There were asking questions that are "hot button" things.. stuff you would hear debated on a 3 hour radio show when hosts start running out of ideas, or on the back page of a gossip column. Its bad when the candidates themselves have to start talking about issues on their own and steering questions back to something relevent.

Seriously, the level of questions they asked would have been the eqivilent of asking Bush "Mr. President, after your last near fatal encounter, do you still believe it wise to avoid pretzels?" There are 300,000 other much more important things to talk about.. but thats the type crap they were asking. I think we asked more difficult questions for class president in elementary school....

I think that Obama's associations say a lot about the type of man he is and what his values are. You are absolutely correct that the unwashed masses don't know crap about the issues.

but those things I mentioned are not his real associations.   they are completely false, yet some people will believe anything because it is convenient and they want to believe it.

you can find people I am associated with that I think are idiots and to assume that I am similar to them would be completely incorrect.  I've known people who I hung out with in high school or college that I would still consider a friend, mostly because I've known them forever, even though I think they are pretty much losers.  merely being associated with somebody doesn't mean anything unless you actually have firsthand knowledge of the relationship.  I'm pretty sure everyone knows somebody who would reflect poorly upon themselves.  hell, I know a guy who lives in a van that I suppose I would consider a friend if asked.

oh my god, a minister was angry at the **** that happens in this country, got carried away and said something that he wouldn't say if he were running for president.  everybody has said something stupid when they get a little passionate about something.  does every teenager really hate their parents?

i dont even waste my time watching it. this will be the first presidential election that i will have been able to vote in. and im very sad and sory to say, i probably wont be voting. not because i dont care, cause i do, i think everyone should vote. but, i dont like McCain....at all. I think hillary is the devil, and i dont trust Obama.

the 3 WORST candidates are the 3 that are in the race. I have given up on the american people to actually see the morality behind people, and not buy into their ****...If i could, i wouldnt vote FOR anyone, but AGAINST all 3 of them.

you have to vote.  it's absolutely stupid not to vote.  vote for some retarded third party guy just to pull attention off the two major parties, at least.

the people who fall back on 'they both suck' do not have any real reason to not vote for one of the third parties.  if they say it doesn't matter, no it does.  if we could get more people to vote and get maybe a very nice chunk of votes for a third party, then i think it would stir some **** up among the big two.

I watched the debate as long as I could with out throwing something at the TV. The talking heads were terrible. I could not believe some of the questions.

As far as my vote is concerned. We all know what we are going to get from Clinton and McCain, pretty much what we have now. So I plan to vote for Obama. If he gets the nomination. I think he has not had time to be bought and fully paid for by the machine in Washington. SO we may get some type of change for the better.
