I just bought a truck 2 weeks ago. Well.. the used car dealership won't cover my motor knock under their warranty. Because they say it's a common noise for all 4.3 v-6 chevys.
I've worked on cars all my life. Keeping them running and all..... I've just never really pulled an engine apart completly. So I'm considering buying a rebuilt engine. I used to work for jasper engines and trans. So I'm leaning towards them. But is there any other good manufactured engine rebuilders out there????
And also... the truck holds good oil pressure on the guage. But I pulled the drivers valve cover off to make sure the noise wasn't a bad rocker arm.... and I started the truck with the valve cover off. I revved it up and held it at 3000rpm...... and I was barely even seeing oil coming up thru the pushrods. Does anyone think that the oil pump might be bad? It's not knocking REALLY bad yet. But it's definatley loud enough to start being a concern.
I just don't know which way to fix the problem.... I get so tired of getting crappy used cars.
