So it would impress you more if he had mastered a 22 fret, 6 string guitar instead of the 88 black and white keys?

i mean, if the keyboard sounded like a piano/keyboard then it would impress me.

but making your keyboard sound liek a guitar so that you can pretend you are playing a guitar doesnt impress me. i dont mean anything negative by it, but i dont consider it true musical talent. Cause when you play a guitar, and you know how to do it really well, you can make a lot a lot a lot a lot of different sounds/noises and effects.

But when you program those sounds into something and only have to press a button to get the result...not impressed.

dude still has talent, dont care wat effect he uses, he can play up a storm

I think thats awesome to be able to play like that and have that talent to make the sound come together like that.

You know what. Hendrix sux then. He plays through an electric guitar and tube amps. It's just making it sound different. S'not really how a guitar sounds because he plucks the strings and then it's translated through all the gadgetry and comes out sounding different.

Now if he played an acoustic he would be better right?

tube amps are about as simple as it gets, analog power baby. a solid state amp would have been a better comparison. and i for one dont think hendrix was all that and a bag of chips.

well it was just for comparison's sake and since tube sound is what's associated with him thats what I used. but yeah, so zack wylde and slash suck too then.

in some creative respects, yes i would say so, but everyone strays from my opinion of their best material with age i suppose
