My original plan was to purchase the FRPP V6 front/rear sway bar kit - but I'm leaning toward the GT take-off rear/front sway bars from NewTakeOff.com since they're a lot cheaper.

My question(s) is this: Does anyone have GT take off sways, and if so, are there any additional parts (bolts etc.) that I would need for the install? Is the handling that much more improved?

Also, does anyone have the FRPP V6 Sway kit? How much and where?

Thanks in advance.

For the GT take-off sways, front & back, you will need this list of items:

w708737-s439   bolt quantity 4
w520213-s440   nut  quantity 4
w711368-s439   bolt quantity 4
w520214-s440   nut  quantity 2

As for the handling, BIG difference! Car stays level when cornering, so anything in the trunk doesn't roll around!

(on one of those bolt parts, you will only use 2 instead of 4, but you can only buy a package of 4)

Thanks Rowdy! Just one one more dumb question... but where'd you get your bolts from?

i'm pretty sure the GT sways are thicker since they are for a heavier faster car.

I think you can get them from your local Ford dealer, but I found this place to be the cheapest. They have it all in stock, and ship same day for reasonable price. (parts + shipping total was 1/2 what our dealer wanted!)

Standard V6 has just the front bar while the PP has both. Gt bars are a few mm thicker than the sixers. They are all interchangable. I actually just got a rear bar from newtakeoff for $80 shipped, which is still a little more than I wanted to pay. I believe the newtakeoff one comes with all the hardware for install.

while you're at it, throw on some poly bushings (to ensure that extra umph!)

mossmustang.com has sets for fair prices

when I stuck the rear sway on it helped, and when I get my tax returns I'll be throwing on the poly bushings (along with tokico shocks hopefully )

I have the FRPP sway kit, I got it from JoeHeckRacing.  Can't remember the exact price, but you can shop around.  These sways are larger than the V6 stockers.

I just put on the front and rear GT sway bars from newtakeoff.com for $100 shipped to my door.  Went to http://tituswillfordparts.com/ to get the hardware which was 45 bucks. Use the part numbers rowdy gave but trust me you can buy the part number W708737s439 and only get two.  You don't need four of these.  The sway bars made a huge difference for me but I never had a rear sway bar so anything is an improvement.

Thanks for posting that! Without digging out the old receipts, I couldn't remember which part number it was that you only needed 2 of them. They must have changed the policy, cause they made me buy 4 so I got stuck with 2 extras!

No problem if you get them online you can get just 2 of them but it wouldn't surprise me for the dealer to do something like that and say you can only get a pack of 4

It is funny, I just went to the link to Titus Ford, went to part numbers and typed in W708737s439 and it was not recognized.

With the price of gas now up to $3.93 a gallon (that's correct $3.93) for low grade, I can't afford to pull any G's!
