As I mentioned in another post, I'm Driving from Winnipeg, MB to Las Vegas, NV, about 1800 miles each way. I will be travelling through ND, MT, ID, UT and NV and the interstate speed limit in each seems to be 75 mph. How fast can I go without being pulled over? As a non-resident I'm much prefer this doesn't happen.

I'm thinking 80 mph shouldn't attract to much attention and going 5 mpg faster shaves about 1.5 hours off the trip.

most places you can get away with 5 over maybe more

just go with the flow if you find a group going faster go with them

5 over in most places. thats kinda like the universal standard in the states.

unless you live in Virginia, then you are required to cut your balls off and hand them over to the state troopers befor eyou enter the highway.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

why do you use such big words, asshole?  trying to confuse me?   stupid fancy northerner talk, **** you, I'm gonna go get my gun and my bible.

op, when you're on the highway, and you enter a little tiny town, make sure you look at the speed limit signs, little town cops live off of speeding tickets given to visitors who don't slow down from highway speeds when they enter the towns.

I just talked to two cops about this in NC.  One said he allows 9 over, no more.  If he catches you doing 10 over, yer done.  The other says he allows 14 over.  I would do 9 over the limit on the highways.  That is what I do and so far (knock on wood) it has worked for me.

i usually always do about 20 over, reason being: i have good brakes, a good radar detector, and a good eye for cops. plus if u get caught doin 20 over or under u can still do DSC.

80 it is then.

My GFs dad got pulled over twice in the same day driving to vegas, doing 85 mph. He talked his way out of both of them.

The mph markings on my speedometers are really small officer.

go with the flow. I used to have a 100 mile trip i did on weekends. I could get away with 90s and at some point 110s late at night you would THINK you can speed, but thats just when you CANT see the cops , so I would say you can average 80. You could invest in a nice fuzzzz buster
