I have decided to go with the xe270hr cam in my 87 gt. Iwould like to hear a sound clip of this cam if anyone has this set up in a speed density .

i have it but no sound clip. i have a vid of the tach at idle, to show that it does infact idle nicly at 800rpms.
its not a lopey sounding cam at all, infact its one of those cams that you can tell its not stock but thats about it... however, you wont get a lopey cam with SD, not OTS.
did you already order it? and the springs and such?
Not yet .There is a kit from summitt racing 717.00,that has cam, lifters timimg chain,springs ,locks retainers at a great price. I've found a site called streetfighter.net that has an 89 conv .I put in mustang with xe270 cam .Dimebag check out that site and let me know if your ,mustang sounds like that.

id advise to NOT get that kit
get the cam alone, keep stock(or replace w. FRPP) lifters, go to autozone and get a timing chain/gears, get comps 7deg locks/retainers(not the 10deg that are in that kit), and those are the 986 springs i think, if they are get the ones the next step up from comp, or get the 986's and have a machine shop install them, and tell them you want about 310-320 spring pressure at .512 lift, theyll shim the springs acordingly and with all that you should be in good shape, might save a few bucks too
