VA Tech is like 30 minutes form me, at the most.

and they had some "memorial service" in the parking lot behind where i work (i work right next to Roanoke College), and instead of it being something to celebrate the lives of those lost, it was so depressing i almost wanted to slit my wrist ust going to lunch and having to hear it. they rang some bell 32 times.....spaced out like 30 seconds from each other...so that took forever. and they blocked off traffic on this part of main street to keep it quiet for the bell ringing. Then some guy who CAN NOT sing, got ont he stage and started singing the most depressing song i think ive ever heard.

i was almost insulted by it, cause a guy i graduated high school with was among the "injured" not killed (shot in the leg), and i thought...if he died, i would want his memory to be a happy one...not a depressing-lets-feel-sorry-for-everyone-and-cry-about-it type of thing.
