New here and first time poster. My wife just bought a '04 GT Convertible. She loves the car and the only thing she wants is to add XM and ipod input. The car has factory Mach 460 with the built in 6 disc changer.I have bought a: FRD03-AUX/S auxiliary input                         SON-AUX   dual interface                          RCA-POD   ipod cableI'm  $165 into it and still don't have an XM receiver. Is there a "head unit" I can buy that will give me an ipod input and have the XM controls built in.I would want one that would be plug and play with a harness so I wouldn't have to cut any wires, something I can use the same speakers and amp with. Thanks for any and all help!

Look into something by jbl called the drive and play.  It was not a bad system, but not a great one that I think did satalite and ipod, I can't remember if it was xm or sirius though.

I know that she probably loves the indash changer and wants to keep it, but it is honestly the weak part of the link in the factory system.  The sound ok but the dependability of them is just barely above a good turbo saab from the 90's.  You can put a bunch of money into integrating into the factory head unit only to watch the deck eventually fail as they always come up with an loading err.  You can do a search on here and you will not have to go back more then a week to find somebody complaining about it and wanting to keep it, more trouble then it is worth....

For around $200 you can get a deck with ipod controls, and has satalite radio and will last longer then the factory deck will as well as sound better.  The install would probably be a little easier this way also.....  page 2 shows how to integrate an alpine into a mach system.

alpine has been my favorite for some time for package/dependability.  There are many that could fit your needs but I am honestly just a wrench in the bay.  I am great for advise for installation and and useless for sales.  There are alot of guys on here that would be happy to help ya spend your cash to get what is best for the best price if you give a budget, and what you want(which we went over already).  Sit tight and I am sure one of the others will take care of ya.  You will need about $50 for parts on install.

I bought a jvc head unit a while back for my 2000 gt with the mach460 system and it works great. the only problem i have found so far is covering the hole where the stock cd changer was. the jvc has the aux input and is sat radio ready. the P/N is: kd-hdr1. i bought it from best buy a while back. had a local place install it because i like them and they warrenty there work. so yeah. its also got HD radio built in which is bad ass.

ok, yea it sounds good.  I wish I had connections at a machine shop to do stuff like that.  I made a voltage/power monitor with the extra space in mine.
