hey guys, I know this isnt about detailing its about were I should get my bumper painted. I recently had a friend have his 69 mustang painted a macco( if thats how you spell it I dont know) and they actaully did a really good job, other than a few small bubbles, there were no runs or anyhting. also the entire paint job was $500
I'm guessing just for my front bumper on my 89 mustang gt would be around $100 maybe $150 its just gloss black. What do you guys think? I tried to have it estimated for having a new bumper painted off the car and they estimated me $1500 at autobcraft. I thought that was insane.
also I have a few small areas that need to be touched up just a few small stress cracks on my fiberglass hood and fenders not threw the fiberglass just the paint, for some reason the sunroof wasnt taken out to paint the car and its not that noticable and from retards leaning up agenst my car. Around how much do you think it would cost just for a few small touch ups and around the sunroof?

Any other reccomendations? I live in norther cali about an hour away from modesto.

It would be fair to pay somewhere around $250-500 for your front bumper. $1500 is outrageous and it sounds like they just didn't want to do it.

I recently got a quote on the front bumper of my Cobra and it fell into the 250-500 range depending on what I wanted done to it.

thats what I thought

All I need is primer and gloss black. and the bumper isnt even on the car, shouldnt that lower the cost?

anyone ever delt with macco? if so did they do good on your car? My paint isnt perfect and it never was it wasnt done right, so would that be a good decision?

You can ask to see some completed work there, I'm sure they can show you a couple complete cars.

They will have to do a little more than just primer and base coat + clear, but you have to be realistic. Do you want your front bumper to be a 500 dollar piece on a car that doesn't really need a $500 bumper paint job?
