For anyone struggling with a convertible top that won't come clean I'm passing on what works for me.
I use straight Clorox and a Mr Clean eraser pad. Wet the pad, pour a tea spoon size amount of Clorox on the pad, use a rubber glove and
scrub an area at a time followed by a wet towel.
My top on my 92 Special Edition is 16 years old and it looks new. I do the same with the boot. Then apply a top conditioner.

I don't want to doubt you or anything, but DAMN that sounds scary.  Putting ANY chlorine bleach on a convertable top just sounds like a really, really bad idea.

I mean, you ever spill a drop or two of straight clorox on a shirt or pair of pants?  After it goes through the wash, that spot where you spilled it isn't just bright white, the fabric is also so weak you can put your finger through it.  Straight chlorine bleach is a really powerful corrosive.

Have you been doing this for the fill 16 years?  If so, that's just outright amazing.  I'd be way too terrified to try it myself.
