you can't possibly deny that internet forums have helped encourage retards to race from a stoplight.  you might as well pretend this forum hasn't added traffic to togirlsjuancup.

can't deny it, but the internet itself is at fault to encourage people to street race.....or is it?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

but i guess the internet forums have also helped encourage other illegal activites...i mean theres a freakin' forum about weed, and i'm sure there are discussions on other forums about illegal activities even if it has nothing to do with the forum's main title.  i think we should just turn off the internet and shove it in al gore's ass.

I can argue that point, and I do.

Just because some moron can get on the forums and talk about something, is not the reason he does it.

I will however, agree that internet talk places increase traffic to certain sites.

" You're right for 2 reasons.

1. I'm sure when someone is about to streetrace, they ONLY carry through with it because they KNOW they can come share it on MF.com.

2. Street racing would stop if there were no internet forums to discuss it on. "
====================
I doubt that.  Around here we used to have a group of older guys who would sit around with their muscle cars(60's and 70's era) and sit around in a parking lot until one of them had enough of the "My car is faster than yours" comments and they would go out in the industrial park and run em'.  They did this up until the ricers found out about it and started coming down the street draggin frames and whatever else they could do to draw the cops attention to the area.(The cops knew what was going on but didn't really care until the ricers invaded)  I doubt they were street racing just to post it on a forum.

just did the gears...to 3.73, the "cold air" and the headers so far..i like 3.73 cause i'm a big fan of the highway roadtrip and i like to reach 140 or so sometimes if i'm out west in the desert.... the plate hasnt gotten attention yet except for maybe when i was gettin it...most people think its says somethin about star trek....only car guys know it says streetracer....i streetrace cause theres no track anywhere near brooklyn or manhattan...if it happens it happens...you can find me on the highway late at night or in the factory district in the bronx...i love testin other cars...i'm no ricer whippin through traffic but i am droolin at the thought of meeting either the new challenger or camaro at a light next year

by the way, the internet has about as much of an impact on streetracing as a penny has if you drop it on a rug.....racin on a street has been around since cars were invented and thinking that any internet forum is encouragin it is silly...in the 50s and 60s when it was outta control there was barely a tv in every home and by the time i hit the scene in the mid 90s computers were barely better than calculaters

it has somewhat of an impact....but its more like throwing a cup of water at a house on fire than it is to be the match that started the fire.  it helps....but its not significant.

Did I actually say "the street racing forum causes street racing to happen."

No, I didn't. Don't put ****ing words in my mouth. I was implying the people who run this message board shouldn't promote street racing. Only allow sections regarding track racing.

Have fun going off on a tangent with that one ass hats.

if you have that much of a problem with how we run this forum, maybe its time for you to find a new forum.

http://www.mustangforums.com/m_707253/tm.htm

maybe you should go to one of the mustang sites that doesnt allow this..oh, wait, all of the other big mustang sites have a kills section.

in class we were talking about a tire shop that has been opened for over a hundred years here in columbus....the guy opened a business making special shoes for horses, "race shoes"....people used to race horse and buggy....guy eventually started doing wheels and tires when cars became more popular, but you get the point....street racing has been around forever....i doubt a site like this has any impact.... now, the local sites, thats a different story....people will always race, but local sites for a city set up street races and help with the traffic of it...but they also tend to do it in safer spots etc....if this was a local car forum where everyone lived near each other, then i would say the ss section would have a major impact....but on a forum where everyone is spread out so much, i doubt it has ANY impact at all

personally i salute the mods for having that section...i would laugh at any performance car forum that pretends streetracing doesnt exist....lets be brutally honest...the mustang did not become the legend that it is on a track...it became a legend on the street...kenny brown himself said that when he really wanted public opinion he would take the ride out to the local latenight streetrace scene and test it there...i have pics of carol shelby at streetraces in my milestone magazine

The media just hypes it all up so everyone sees every bad case of street racing. And i did some research on it a year ago for a speech, street racing accounted for i think it was around .1% of vehciale related deaths.

And almost all the time,  its a dumbass teenager who races a buddy in city streets with traffic and people on the street.

i see it is a problem, the solution the police have is great, for those dumbass'

but the same punishment for people in a confined area or industrial tpye area,  Blah

street racing is dangerous. obviously. and is more dangerous to both the drivers and spectaters, than at a track.

But some places dont have a decent track, or any track at all. there are 3 1/8 mile tracks within 1 hour of me, but all 3 of them blow ass. one runs up the side of a mountain for like the last 100 ft + the deceleration lane, another is at an old airport that is still used as an airport, as well as a drag strip, if you dont stop in time, you wreck into people's private planes. and the third track is usually so crowded, you can spen all night in the staging lanes and only get like 2 passes.

I myself have street raced many many many times. I HAVE NEVER raced in a residential zone, or any place with heavy traffic, vehilcular or pedestrian. Whenever people around here race, we have places that we race at, that are away from everything, so if something goes wrong, we are the only ones getting hurt/injured. Im not saying its right, but i think racing on populated streets is rediculous
