Earth Day is tomorrow

My plans have changed a bit.

On the one side, I plan on changing a co-workers fuel filter in the parking lot and dumping some gas on the ground.  But I also plan on renting a Prius for 24 hours.  It's just a coincidence that both of these events happen to be on Earth Day.

I'm going to celebrate Earth Day by remembering the major theme of the first Earth Day in 1970.

GLOBAL COOLING AND THE COMING ICE AGE.

I can't recycle it would violate my contract.

When my sister and I were kids we collected cans to recycle for some extra cash of course.  After a few weeks we filled up the back end of the minivan with several trash bags full.  We ended up getting a small amount of money, maybe $6 to split between the two of us.  My dad offered us $10 each if we agreed never to recycle again.  We both took the deal and never looked back.

lol    Its ironic that my kids want to plant a tree, so we are gonna buy a couple of apple trees while hubby is logging from sun up til sun down.  I am glad that they haven't thought about their daddy cutting trees all day everyday when the teachers were telling the to celebrate earth day.

So the kids will be giving a drop back while hubby takes a gallon.

Well Earth Day is coming to a close.

I indeed spilled gas on the ground and then improperly disposed of a used filter, but it was to help a co-worker down on her luck.  Six bucks and change isn't too bad for a fuel filter replacement.

I also got the rental Prius.  Pretty emotionless driving compared to the Mustang GT.  But as aforementioned, getting the car to run on electric motor only is fun.  Driving by pedestrians at 35 mph or so and making no noise but the rolling of the tires is kind of cool.  The dealership that rented me the car is also slapping on $4000 ADMs, same as my local Toyo dealer.   Even if slashing my horsepower and torque by about two-thirds didn't bother me (and it would), the extra money involved in trading into a Prius would totally nullify any fuel savings...

Earth day? Buahaha! Please. I live in Calgary. You know, the only city where our power consumption went up during that whole "lights out for an hour" thing.

I celebrated by splashing slush at the smokers/tools/utter morons across the street from my school in my friends truck. That and accelerating very abruptly at each light on my way home.
