100.9 ??    really?? He couldn't have just rounded up to 101 or down to 100?

Good luck but me thinks you are soooo screwed!

When I read this in the summary i almost cried... Then i saw it was for virginia
"It is considered to be reckless driving to (1) exceed the posted speed limit by 20 mph or more or (2) drive over 80 mph regardless of the speed limit. In these instances the fine can be up to $ 2,500 plus an additional “road abuser fee” assessment of $ 1,050. However, the higher charge and fine for violations of driving 20 or more miles per hour above the speed limit has not been consistently applied in Virginia"

But yeah It says the fine is $100-$300 for first offense plus the fine multipliers....

• A surcharge equal to 50% of the assessed fine. This extra amount goes to the Special Transportation Fund and is known as the “STF surcharge” (CGS § 13b-68).
^+ a possilbe $150
• An additional fee of $ 1 for every $ 8 of fine, or any fraction thereof, for the purpose of providing funds for state and municipal police training (CGS § 51-56a(c)).
• A $ 15 cost must be imposed against anyone who pleads no contest to, or is convicted of, a speeding violation or speeding infraction (CGS § 54-143(a) (Note—This cost applies to violations of CGS § 14-219 but not to violations of CGS § 14-218a).
• A $ 20 surcharge must be imposed on anyone who pleads no contest to, or is convicted of, any infraction, or certain violations. However, if the infraction carries a fine of $ 35 or more, the amount that must be paid is $ 35 (CGS § 54-143a).
^+35
• Anyone convicted of speeding, reckless driving, or drunk driving must pay an additional $ 5 assessment, which is designated for use for traumatic brain injury prevention services. The assessment also applies to anyone who pleads no contest to a speeding charge and pays the fine by mail (CGS § 14-295a).
^+5
• An additional fee of $ 10, which is paid to the municipality in which the offense occurred (CGS § 51-56a(d)).
^+10
In addition to all of these special assessments, when certain offenses occur in a designated (1) state highway construction zone, (2) utility work zone, or (3) school zone, the violator must pay an additional amount equal to 100% of the assessed fine (CGS §§ 14-212a, 212b). Table 1 illustrates how these additional fees and fine multipliers work for a typical speeding violation.

So i could end up paying $500 Hopefully that's not the case

LOL.. broham, ANYWHERE you get a wreckless driving citation will get you major a$$-pain.. I got three speeding tickets, one wreckless driving citation and a street racing citation in the 4yrs I lived in VA, so yyaaa.. I can testify to that. lol Yes all of you bible-thumping safety nuts out there, I know it was stupid. lol But honestly, I'd say you could probably expect between 150-200 for the fine, plus court costs, which depending on which jursidiction you're in could cost between 175-300 bucks. Wreckless citations ain't cheap brudda.. And THAT'S if you're nice to the judge.. If you're a d1ck they could decide you need to have your license suspended, OR issue up to 30 days of jail time depending on whether or not you have any priors. Again, it might be a little less stringent up there in CT, but it's still gonna be a major PITA..

Was it done by a laser or a radar? The laser guns are inaccurate if there is any rain, snow, fog and the pig has to be stationary to use them. The most important thing to remember is do not try and justify what you did and make it sound acceptable  I got off with carelss driving when I was 16 and got it down to an impeding traffic ($120 no points) I was just humble

I'm assuming radar if he came up with 100.9, it was clear and a nice day out.  This is my first ticket of any kind, nothing bad on my record, i'm 17 go to school, dont drink or do drugs or any of that, plan on going to college. But in the past 3 or 4 months there have been two fatal accidents with teenage kids involved so i dont think that will help me at all. And there is currently some laws trying to be passed to limit teenage driving somehow, dont have details, but i guess i'll have to hope for the best, i'm thinking of writting something to say to the judge...

I wish that would've happened to me, I feel the same way now and i'm sure just being pulled over would have the same effect. I think the officer who pulled me over was having a bad day or was just a not so nice guy. Here's how the convo went...
"License and Registration please..."
I hand over license and registration...
"You were going 100.9"
he goes to his car and comes back...
"Your court date is on the 23rd, be there at 9am and here is where it is located."
me:"Thank you sir"
he slams my door in my face which pissed me off a little.

Dont worry, it wont be happening again...

I never raced anybody, i did drive fast.  But now I think i've gotten over the thrill of speed and feeling invincible as a 17 year old. Now it's more of a fear of it because of my recent ticket of 100 in a 65, Dont plan on going faster than 70 or so unless it's on a track. It's not worth it in my mind...

And yes, that is my dad

But at the same time my parents would also kill me if I got a ticket. At least he has a couple of great looking Chevelles.

i'm from va, work with lots of police officers. reckless..you have fun with that one. you're lucky you didn't get arrested. you CAN go to jail for 30 over. just outta curiosity, where in va was this? If the judge gives you driving school, consider your ass luck as hell, but i'm sure he will cause around here they seem to love that with younger people, especially kids. i'm not gonna call you a dumbass...well cause everyone else has and you know that by now and mustangs don't make pretty tin cans when they wreck at those speeds. good luck with it though and be as sorry as you can!! oh yea and pray the judge isn't having a bad day
