to the ppl that DONT play WoW, i get it, im a dork, blah blah blah
to the ppl that DO.........
i just lvled to 30 today(Wo0T!), this is my highest lvl char.
lvl 30 dwarf hunter pet spec (im horde all the way, but im a dwarf fan from the old games)
now, its taken me a LONG LONG LONG time to get here, i dont know what im doing wrong, but i lvl so slow.
i also have pretty ****ty gear (im at work, so i cant get a link to my gear)
my prob is, i pretty much run around randomly, 90% of the mob's i fight are lower lvl then me, and i solo most the time too.
i dont know much about the game, and im just confused on what route i should take.
i dont know if i should focus on questing, grinding, profession upgrading, or focus on getting gear (that will suck after i lvl a few times)
so im asking for advice, and just wanting to chit chat about World of Warcraft.
thx
l8er

RE: my fellow WoW players....need help with my hunter
This is an alliance leveling guide. I did with two 70s.
You can grind to lv10 but the FASTEST way to level is to do quests that have you kill beasts and NPC/Mobs. Sometimes its a good idea pick up quests that have you talk to people because you may come across them long the way with zero effort. Try to do 3 quests at once before turning in to ensure you get the max XP. Example is that if you do one at a time and level up the next quest you do will earn you LESS xp because you are a higher level. Sometimes how ever you have to turn in quests to get the next step in a series.
1 - 10 : Your home land for the race you play
10 - 18: West Fall , go to sentinel hill
18 - 28: Red Ridge Mountains
28 - 30: Duskwood , grind two levels or do odd ball quests
DO THE MASTERY QUESTS IN CAMP NESSINGWERRY IN NORTH STRANGLE THORN VALE
These are the best best most fun IMO. you get one for panthers , tigers and raptors and then each one has 3 steps. thats 9 easy quests and a ton of XP fast.
31 - 42: Strangle Thorn Vale/ Booty Bay
42 - 48: Tanaris, do quests at steemwheedle port and do Pirate quests
48 - 50: You can grind next door to Tanaris in Un'goro
50 - 57: Blasted Lands
ENTER OUTLAND and never go back to Azeroth to level
57 - 62: Hell Fire , go to Honor Hold where flight path is and do quests next to the mine, go do quests for the expedition, do quests to kill sand worms, do wood and metal collecting quests, Do zeppelin Debris quest , go west and do feather collecting quest and go to falcon watch. NOW go to Shat City in TerokkarForest.
Mix in: TerokkarForest has some good quests for 62 - 64 in the Allerion Stronghold area.
62 - 65: Zangermarsh , go to Cenarion Refugee camp and get Quests to kill the NPC and get tool box and Plants in the cave in the south. Then go to Telredor and pick up random quests also Flight Path is here.
65 - 66: Nagrand, do the elemental quest from the goblin and venture to the Flight Path in Oshugun few quests here tho.
67 - 70!: Blades Edge Mountians, Set your hearth stone to Ruunaweald and get the few quests there and then go to Slyvannar and get quests there, you may end up flying back and forth between the two a lot.
after 70 Set your Hearth to Shath or City you like best

HOW to Raid - you need to read this , yes you!

::Terminology::
DPS - damage per second or just raw damage
HoT - Heals over time
HPS - Heals per second or just raw heals
BoW - Blessing of Wisdom , restores Mana per second - for healers
BoK - Blessing of Kings, increases stats by 10% - for DPS
AoE - Area of effect , damage more then one target
CC - crowd controls , sap - sheep - and mind control , reduces amount of targets temporarily.
Aggro - Aggression , who the enemy is wanting to attack.
NPC - none playable character , computer enemy
1st we will cover 5 man instances. Everyone has a specific job or title
Tank - 1st to attack , you must attack only his target , keeps aggro on self.
DPS - deals damage to the tanks target
Healer - does not attack , only heals tank and others
Ranged DPS - attacks from a distance , like hunters locks and mages.
CC- mages sometimes need to sheep a target or a rogue sap a target to reduces the number of people attacking the tank temporarily. Priest has mind control.
Q: what do you do when the tank dies?
A: The mobs will probably attack who has been healing so if a pally or druid is present , they need to act fast to take aggro off of a healer. Also , only druids can resurrect people in mid combat.
Q: what do you do if the healer runs out of mana?
A: Druids have the ability to innervate , this gives mana regeneration back to a healer. be careful tho its easy to accidently innervate yourself or the tank.
:::::::25 - 40 man raids:::::::
These work the same way on on a more delicate and larger scale. You will have more then 3 healers and many DPS players but still just one MAIN tank.
A few key things to remember
- Don't attack an NPC until their health is at 98%, this insures the Tank keeps aggro on himself.
-Watch your step its easy to walk into a mob you don't see and now even more enemies are attacking the group.
-Healers need BoW and Intellect Buffs , DPS need BoK and the Tank needs devotion Aura.
more later-

RE: my fellow WoW players....need help with my hunter
i played and payed for wow for 8 months then went to a FREE server. After seeing both the Retail server takes much longer , its a strugle to have gold and get epic gear.
on the free server I had about 20K gold and full Teir 6 for my druid. est 300 hours played.
The free server im on offers 3 realms. one exactly like retail. One thats 3 times the XP rate drops and gold and one that is 15 times the rate.
on the fast server you hit lv 70 inabout 10 hours of solid playing. on other on it takes about 30 -40 hours to hit 70.
RE: my fellow WoW players....need help with my hunter
Ok, guides do NOT work on an MMO. This stuff is just common sense.
The fastest way to level? Easy- Questing.
Even moreso now since the 2.3 patch. They increased the exp gained from all oldworld quests by about 33%, and reduced the exp needed per level by about 25%- 1-60 is even faster than it has ever been.
Find a decent level that is about your level or 1-2 levels below, and just pound out the quests. The last quest giver in a certain area will always send you to the next area with a bunch of quests. Blizzard did an AMAZING job keeping you on a linear path to level quickly, if you so choose.
The only gear you will need for leveling up will be from quests- they give you gear that is more than sufficient for leveling up. Especially as a hunter, they are solo kings.
So in conclusion- Do the quests. If you need help with a quest, go to thottbot, and punch in the quests name. It will tell you all the details, where in the zone the mobs are, and any tricks.
RE: my fellow WoW players....need help with my hunter
thanks zanador, that helps alot.
when i go to a new town, i tend to fart around, grind some, etc.
as for the comment about gear, its becase i went to the battlegrounds for the first time the other day, and i got ragged on by at least 20ppl, in the 3-4 times i did it sence then......... lol, fags.
lol, i like the hunter, sending out my bear to get aggro, then long ranging ppl to death is challenging and fun!
i have nothing to do for the next 2 days, so ill prob get about 3hrs a day in, whitch is alot for me, normally i only play about an hr a week total, lol
the quests are kinda ****ty, becase sometimes you cant tell where the damn thing wants you to go, then you spend 5min reading the discription over and over and over, trying to figure it out, then i just get pissed and run off and grind[>:]

Ignore the Battlegrounds people. When you are at a low level, most of the people doing BG's are twinks, pumped full of gold and twink gear from their mains, so you are at an insane disadvantage.
Basically, I would wait until you are 61+ to go to BG's- it is more worth it then.
Thottbot.com will be your one stop resource for anything WoW- if you can't figure a quest, go there.
