It's that time in a young man's life when its time to purchase a car. I will be graduating from college in 6 weeks and will be attending vet school in the fall. I have been blessed with unlimited use of my parents corolla up until now, and it is being handed off to my younger brother.

I have been looking into cars for the last few weeks and am interested in learning more about the V6 mustang. I can't afford the gas or insurance of a V8 while in vet school nor do I really need all that power so I feel a V6 will do just fine. What do you mustang guys think of a mustang as a daily driver? Anything I should look into in particular. I haven't had any problem locating tons of mustangs in my area although it is a bit harder to find a V6 with a 5 speed like I am looking for.

Thanks

sure go ahead buy one, i got a v6, you definetly wanna go with a standard to get the full power,
cause in an automatic, you floor it, rpms go high but it has to think for a sec, than it goes.

I'm about to graduate too. Just got my V8 Vert. 4 Months in and I can't even imagine driving anything else. I'm that in love with it.

I'd say yes; get the stang.

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your decision.  By all means get a mustang, but get one you can afford now.  You can always upgrade later.

Welcome. My stang is the best decision ive made. Pony package is nice and standard tranny is nice. I drive about 80-100 miles a day for work and its not that bad on gas. And they deffinatly arent all show no go.

If you are looking to buy a fun ride with decent horsepower and tourque, then a V6 Mustang is the right car for you! I would also suggest the 5 speed. This will allow you to really feel the tourque and HP the Mustang has to offer. Also, you can always add modifications to pump up the HP. I drive my Mustang as a daily commuter and really enjoy it. I don't hit too much traffic due to working close to my home; therefore a 5 speed is manageable for me. For those who drive to work in stop and go traffic, this could be a pain due to being a sports clutch, it is a bit stiffer than a regular clutch.

Good luck to you!
