I don't need to point anything out here.

Either way you go, you realize your talking about $4,000 in a subwoofer setup right?

Why two?  I would definitely go with at least three.

Doesn't matter what we think will result in the highest SPL, it's all about how you have it all put together.

I can build something that sounds better and gets louder than 90% of the people in this forum at half the price. 85% of your systems overall quality is directly reliant on your install or lack thereof

I have not heard or played around with a Fi, but they are designed by the people that started RE before RE was bought out by US amps.

I'd bet money they perform as well as any RE sub on the market except the XXX.

install as stated by the flock is very imprtant for overall numbers. I have seen a few btl's over the past year or so and they seem to hold up nicely. BTL is just a 2004-2005 RE MT (if u get the 3rd mag/coils/etc). The new XXX is just a show piece i have not been impressed with them at anytime considering there price. But after install the next most imprtant thing is ur electrical then your amp then your sub. Cause without the proper elec system it want matter how many 18's you got.

The FI btl 18's would be the best bet. They get extremely loud and are better price than the other subs mentioned. There are many people using them in dbdrag but rarely do you see xxx's in a pro comp vehicle. How loud you get with these subs and all other subs depends on the install and the amount of power you use. Just remember with a lot of power you must have the electrical system to back it. Another sub to look at would be the Incriminator Audio             DP-18, these are going to be awesome subs. What are you planning on putting these in because all three require a good amount of air space.

TG the new dp line does not look like something i would suggest manily because any company tha puts CILD - Center Interlocking Dustcap Design for Easy Field Recones in there description as a selling point has got alot of work to do before id drop 600$ plus another 125$ for that spare recone kit|(( kinda sounds like another solo x to me)

Well they were designed around the competition scene where there is a need for in the field reconing. Most competitors put way more power to a sub than it can handle but only for a short amount of time. For a daily install you wouldn't be putting near that amount of power to the sub, therefore it would definately hold up. So for those competitors with the godly amount of power, IA designed them this way for easy, in-the-lane reconing.

i understand why they did it. ive been to the drag a few times and yes some people do have to do recones but most are due to neglect like u said. but to say recones are a reg at a show is not true (ive seen more amps go up then speakers) but for 700$ i want something to last my cactus 15 is rated at 2000rms but has seen over 6200(crown dropped down to .5ohm) many of times without fault and runs daily with a 2000x going on for more then a year. Not saying all can do this but many have along with others (dd,fi,atomic, shocker) just to name a few have went well beyond want they were intead for and have made it to the next show. But if recones were the norm then i would suspect that the companys named above would have caught on to this idea(well the ones still around). not saying they want get loud as all hell cause i dont know but ill let someone else jump into the fire and see what happens before i would make that kinda money mistake.

I too have been to many shows and in my experiences seen many recones and for competitors taht are running non-reconeable subs(or subs that take some time to recone such as dd) have to swap out subs. I know here in the last little while blowing subs has decreased but it is still happening. You say your running Cactus Sounds 15's, what do you think about them. I have been wanting to try some of their 10's for a street A vehicle but do not know anyone with any experience with them.
