willyd465 -> mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/13/2008 8:05:14 PM)

here is my 2005 suzuki rm 250 that i picked up a few weeks ago, the first pic is of from the sellers ad.  as of now it has tech care suspension, renthal bars, fmf fatty pipe and power core II silencer, tag sprockets, weisco piston.  in a couple weeks it will be getting v-force 3 reeds, and next winter ported and polished cylinder with milled head, and matched cases...basicly a blue printed engine  hopefully you like the pics, and i should have some of the bike in action in a week or two.  weather's been to crappy up here in michigan

edit: sorry for the crappy quality, cell phone pics

The stang II -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/13/2008 8:19:19 PM)

Looks good, wish I was still riding. I usually rode when at my brothers go-kart races where mx tracks were at.

sarNz -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/13/2008 8:22:17 PM)

sweet!  i think im going to buy a ttr125 and do the same thing this summer.

willyd465 -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/13/2008 8:24:41 PM)

i didn't really do too much to it, just new plastics and graphics all around and chain and sprockets, but there will be more done this summer

true66gt -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/13/2008 8:52:07 PM)

i had like a 1985 honda xr80. it was the most badass bike ever [:D]

it was the best bike to dump the clutch and just do fat brakestands cause nothing was sensitive or over powerful.

like on my friends kx80 the front brakes were super sensitive and i flipped it and went over the bars lol

i have a 2000 xr 100 and it is a blast to rip around the yard on, i think this summer im gunna get some stiffer springs for it and maybe do a couple pit bike races on it

MattCA -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/13/2008 10:06:25 PM)

I have a powercore 2 sitting right next to me. For some reason the cone is flipped upside down and it doesnt seem to fit my bike. Hey, can you see the spark arrestor or no? I want to double check before I take it out on trail.

the power core 2 isn't a spark arrestor, your thinking of the turbine core 2 silencer

how is that yz? my dad has a 2001 yz426f, and i tried racing it a couple times, but i couldn't stand the way it handled, felt wayyy too stiff.  what graphics did you did you end up going with?

britt21 -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/14/2008 2:29:36 PM)

Well.. I'm a girl and growing up everyone I knew- Rode bikes. But everyother one Ive had , were nothing like the YZF. Personally, I love it. Its definantly got more then enough power for me. I like that I can trail ride it, or ride it on the track.
I got One Industries - Delta Graphics.

willyd465 -> RE: mx bike transformation (still in progress) (4/14/2008 8:38:17 PM)

nice looking graphics, i have crf 250 im trying to sell, and i love that bike to death, but i was riding the wheels off of that thing and decided it would be cheaper to buy a 250 and sell the crf then porting/cam/high compression piston in the crf

Noooooooo! Those are kids bikes. They are so small and weak. Get a regular 2 stroke 125. OR, if you want a four stroke, get  250 for about the same power.

YZ125 FTW

Nooooo!  I had a 250f and it was too big for me.  I don't have many places to ride so I want a play / fun bike and those are greeeeeeeeat.

And here's a video to change your mind about TTR125s

if your not serious about riding, and dont have alot of room to play in a ttr 125 would be alot of fun.  i have an xr 100 (about the same size as the ttr 125) and its alot of fun to just wheely around on and toy with around the yard
