Like how do you build one, and does anyone have pics of one so I can get an idea. I have two huge amps..both 20" long. about 3" deep, 11"wide. Let me know. Thanks For an 07 Mustang

Do we really need to go through with this again. We'll be in this thread until August...

You build one with wood, you screw the amps down and wire them up.

You're on a thing called the internet, go to a search engine, type in amp rack. You find some pictures.

I would recommend checking out your local big box, CC or BBy.

Ok so no help from you two, that figures. Does anyone that actually has a new body style mustang that has built an amp rack, have any specs on theirs or pictures?  Should I use a piece of plexi glass to mount both my amps too back to back or get some plywood or mdf wood 3/4 inch or what?

Thank you Raymoyer1 for the help. I want an open amp rack, I guess I might just get a board mdf of some size not sure either 3/4 or 1/2 inch thick. and hook up one amp to one side and other amp to the other side. I don't do Led,s those are gay.

Yeah I guess they are, compared to the other things youre doing...

And yes I would do 3/4, your amps do weigh around 90 pounds each...

If you want to manage space, you can mount the amps on the back of the seats in the trunk, but if your stuck on the 'rack' idea...

1/2-5/8's mdf works fine, as for overall design your looking for is upto you. But the higher off of the trunk bottom you put it the more bracing you will need so its not breaking over every speed bump you drive over.

got it done by my guy at CC believe it or not. lol. actually he used to work for Columbus CAr Audio which is one of the biggest custom car audio places around town. they do anything from basic amp/box install to real high end stuff for real high end cars. but he got sick of commission... anyways yeah he hooked me up with that setup. i love it. i just never posted pics of it cause it just got set back outta the way with rebuilding (and rebuilding) the box. lol.

he wired the 0/1 gauge, fuses and 2nd battery up for me and i told him to just get the amps in there somewhere and he came back with that. i was real happy to say the least.

Thanks 07lane40 That is what I was looking for. I'm gonna get some mdf prob. 1/2 so that way I can use the extra to build a smaller box in that back angle part for my 2 kicker cvr 10s. Then I will build an amp wall sort of like yours. mount one amp facing the rear seats other facing the sub box. My problem is that my amps are so long. I also have a kicker 4 ch. I might use too instead of my original 4 ch. I was gonna use..so kinda up in the air about it.

I hate worst lie just because I use to work there.   They have some good people, it is just a bad system...  CC has some good or even great installers and can do some good stuff.  That is a simple and smooth install which is why I like it.  You didn't eat up the trunk, hid all the wires and even put a little bit of depth in it.  Most of the time the simple stuff is what is the hardest to pull off and keep it clean, yer guy looks to have done a good job.

See how easy an amp rack is?   1 - 2 - 3

thanks ttocs.

haha yeah. it's simple.  i just love the look too cause its not hangin out all over like some other systems ive seen. creative but simple. he hid a lot like the dist block and both fuses, and a buttload of wiring. im big on being clean. i dont like it when everything gets too crowded.

It was hard to keep the clutter down with only my two amps, but then they are both 4 channels and I am using all 8 outputs.  Hopefully yer boy took care of you and it as clean inside as out, all it normally takes is an anal customer or installer(anal in a good way, like me).  I have seen alot of systems that look good from far and are far from good....  with that and the new box you must be just waiting for a warm afternoon to roll the widows down and crank the tunes huh?

finally got a couple days this week and ive been lovin it.

i actually took the thing apart to see how it was wired and how clean it was inside and was really happy with the job. hes actually done 4 installs for me and my pops. he fiberglassed a box and installed a new deck and amp for my dad's vette (had a little stealth thing goin on with the sub goin in a glovebox behind the seat) and he's never once fudged anything up. he's pretty much my goto guy for sounds.

Did he build the back part of the amp rack as one board going across...then have the center amp stick out by using more wood as a spacer?
