17x10.5 wheels on an 03 cobra [updated with pics] - 4/12/2008 9:17:09 AM    562cobra Posts: 688 Joined: 7/23/2007 Status: offline i dont remember where hearing this, but going 10.5 on the rear of an irs cobra is going to give you fitment issues. Some poeple get shaved irs bolts and spacers but other dont need them, It also depends on tires _____________________________ -MGW shifter -slp lm1 catback -slp catted x -billetflow 2.76 and idler -K&N Intake -sct chip -lfp d/p heat exchanger -H&R race and mm c/c plates 457hp/475tq (in reply to 562cobra) Post #: 2

RE: 17x10.5 wheels on an 03 cobra - 4/16/2008 8:01:21 AM    Jazzer The Cat Posts: 2747 Joined: 6/8/2006 From: SF Bay Area Status: offline I have seen an '04 Cobra with Saleen 10"s and 1" spacer (looked like 1/2" spacer would have worked). I asked at the time and was told of the bolt issue. Could be that the 18" wheels allow better clearance and makes sense. I don't have IRS on my '02 Saleen, but am currently running 10.5" Saleen replicas on rear with 1/2" spacer and 295/30/18"s. I had to install longer studs as a result, but was better fit (safer with extra heavy lug-bolts) and runs wheel out the the edge of fender (but not past!) Will run 315's later this year when my current PS2's transformation to dust is complete due to HWY 1 twisties . I will have no clearance issues even though running 18" wheels, but do have my fenders rolled due to Griggs GR-40 suspension. I have seen MANY Cobras over the years running 315's on 10.5"s, but connot say for sure if any had IRS . But sounds like AZ Snake had the set-up.
