i dont remember where hearing this, but going 10.5 on the rear of an irs cobra is going to give you fitment issues. Is this true? if so what needs to be modified to make em fit? and any website i can visit to find more info? thanks you guys

there are a few factors to look at, is the car lowered? Some poeple get shaved irs bolts and spacers but other dont need them, It also depends on tires

well i did some searching and i think 10.5 on the rear will be ok if the max tire size is 295/35/17. can anyone verify?

if you wanted to shave them you need a grinder but I think it would be better to just get the bolts from upr.

Would be alot easier to do a spacer.  It wont hurt the car and it looks better IMO.  Here is a side shot of what mine looked like when I had the IRS

i also heard that replacing the stock irs bolt isn't recommended.

I have seen an '04 Cobra with Saleen 10"s and 1" spacer (looked like 1/2" spacer would have worked). I asked at the time and was told of the bolt issue. Could be that the 18" wheels allow better clearance and makes sense. I don't have IRS on my '02 Saleen, but am currently running 10.5" Saleen replicas on rear with 1/2" spacer and 295/30/18"s. I had to install longer studs as a result, but was better fit (safer with extra heavy lug-bolts) and runs wheel out the the edge of fender (but not past!) Will run 315's later this year when my current PS2's transformation to dust is complete due to HWY 1 twisties . I will have no clearance issues even though running 18" wheels, but do have my fenders rolled due to Griggs GR-40 suspension.

I have seen MANY Cobras over the years running 315's on 10.5"s, but connot say for sure if any had IRS . But sounds like AZ Snake had the set-up. Maybe you load your pic on Photobucket.com or see my car in tires and wheels section under "HELP, I am losing sleep" thread.
